“Vinegar with pepper flakes a BBQ sauce not make.”
- Master Yoda

EDIT: “A Jedi draws his strength from the balance of sweet, savory, and sour. But beware the aggression of vinegar and heat without any sweetness or complexity of spices - the dark side it is.” - Ya Boiiii Yoda again

But you're wrong about BBQ Sauce. Both opinion on Vinegar based and geography. North Eastern SC/Pee Dee area is all Vinegar based. And it's THE ONLY BBQ sauce

Sorry for your luck if that’s the only BBQ sauce in that area. Good ole Lowcountry mustard sauce like Bessingers is the good stuff.

We have a few places around here serving that baby doo doo

And I have a recipe for white mayonnaise-based Alabama barbeque sauce that is GREAT!

Good BBQ needs very little sauce… but I’m a mustard guy…

TX is good too… lots of black pepper and tomato based

Yeah the Pee Dee / Eastern NC vinegar pepper bbq sauce

is the bomb. As is Midlands mustard based. And give me the KC variety for ribs.

Pulled pork prepped with the Pee Dee action, topped with some spicy mustard based = heaven.

Go eating!

was a gas station that sold BBQ as 1 Pepsi, 2 Pepsi, or 3 Pepsi just depending on how hot you wanted it! They sold a lot of Pepsis. Vigier base of course.

Also, when I got out of Clemson and started my first job in

I think vinegar as a BBQ sauce sort of defeats itself.
