Stout guy

Sep 7, 2014, 1:23 PM

I have supported Cole from the start. Senior with game exp, knows the system, etc. Knew the talent that Watson was coming in very excited to see just how good he could be. But felt like you go with exp before youth. After watching both play the past 2 weeks, I still believe that Cole should be the guy. However objects in mirror are closer than they appear. I have been truly impressed with Watson being an 18 year old true freshman going into the game in Athens down 7 and walking down the field and with such touch on his passes to score. Yesterday watching him get about equill reps continued to impress with his footwork and pocket presance. IMO I think that the offence just flows better and the guys seem to respond better with him. Its like a shot of adrinalen when he comes in. With all that I think Cole starts in Tallahasee but if he struggles and Watson plays well enough the future should come sooner rather than later. Theyre already selling #4 jerseys in the stadium. Cole is a good QB and leader but hes got to be feeling the pressure.

I think that he is feeling the pressure also, and that could effect his play in a negative way. I just wish that Watson would have been brought along just like the rest of our QBs. Play mop up, or for an injured Cole. But our coaches just had to show off what they had in Watson.

Watson is clearly good enough to be playing.

It would have been wrong for the coaches to redshirt him simply because "he's a QB and should redshirt because that's what you do."

Yeah I hated the way they showed off Watkins..

Since I have been accused of being a coot and Cole's mom today from this stellar panel here on T net, what I think isn't really all that earth shaking. If you guys think that Dabo is going to change his mind after 2 games your sadly mistaken. He is stubborn and doesn't like to be told what he should or shouldn't do. He is gonna ride Cole Stout'ts train until there is no other option!

serious question.............................

Sep 7, 2014, 3:15 PM

you say after watching both play the last 2 weeks you still think stoudt is the guy.......Why?

if you think the offense flows better and runs smoother with watson how is stoudt still "the guy"??

and this "respect stoudt" from the coaches is getting ridiculous..........NOBODY is disrespecting him but them IMO. If stoudt is the "clear cut" starter...........THEN TREAT HIM THAT WAY give him the game until it's out of hand then throw in watson (that last part was directed at the coaches btw)
