Man there’s a bunch of good ones recently like Bill Burr, but my favorite has to be Bernie Mac.
The Mac Man is just too funny. Love listening to him make fun of himself.
What about y’all?

I liked Tim Wilson also. There are so many comedians that I liked like Carlin, Pryor, Williams, and Murphy. Two of my all-time favorites would be Tim Conway and Jonathan Winters.

Conway would have the rest of the crew laughing during the skit. And he still kept a straight face.

Good choice. I don’t know if you’re aware, but there’s some comedians who go even farther nowadays with their jokes than older comedians used to.
Guys like Shane Gillis and Louis CK are just ruthless with their jokes. But it’s hilarious. Got to laugh at life somehow.

I also like Greg Warren, the guys at Babylon Bee, Kellen Erskine, and Tim Hawkins. Nate Bargatze is pretty good.
I still laugh at Eddie Murphy "Delirious" and a lot of his skits on SNL.

Maybe you're just too sheltered to know what nasty is? Or maybe you just don't pay attention to known bored standing-jokes. Either way, yikes.

Other guys I enjoy are John Mulaney and Patton Oswalt. They are on the nerdy/geeky side, but I find their style entertaining.

I was reading an interview today with Mel Brooks. I can't imagine trying to have a conversation with him, think I'd likely wet my pants.
Something about that generation, the good ones could keep you in stitches. He mentioned Carson and Jack Benny. I didn't really think of them as comedians, but they were and pretty good...a little subtle. I think maybe the industry forced then to be entertainers first and comedians second. Though Brooks would push the envelope, most were pretty well mannered.

He's clueless. He's just as genuine as it gets.

Some of the others mentioned before could certainly pass for my favorite but I'll throw James Gregory in the hat. I can still remember riding around with my Pop's playing a cassette of his with his "Dangling participle joke"

Mitch Hedberg was a good one, but the best of the best of the best was George Carlin, nobody speaks the truth like him. If you don't like him, it's just because he burned your belief

Starting back a 100 years and evaluating that talent to that of today is trying. Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin were the kings of their day Bing Crosby and Bob Hope, Laurel and Hardy and Martin and Lewis were greats. That's skipping Moe, Larry and Curly and may of the ex Vaudeville stars who turned toward Hollywood like William Frawley. Norm Crosby was a funny, funny guy and most of his act was simply mispronouncing words.
Bill Cosby struck the nation down with an album entitled 'To Russel My Brother With Whom I Slept. Stephen Wright and Robin Williams were excellent with perhaps Williams being my favorite. Those two didn't need a situation to be funny like many others. Both could take a stage and connect with everyone.
I remember Williams doing a command performance and the Queen not cracking a single smile. I was rolling and that old biddy sat silent through the entire show.
Owen Wilson is funny, Eddie Murphy is funny, Chris Tucker is a riot along with Dave Chappelle.
