What do you think about a company that has 32% increase in revenue

year over year, a 14% higher EPS, and is expecting double digit growth this year...but declares no merit increases and cuts bonuses in half(or more) for all management?
I know my conclusions are..but I'd like to get the opinion of some much smarter folks than me.

shareholder value.
Without the shareholders, the company is nothing.
The actual day to day employees don't make the company go, the shareholders do.

I think they want to get rid of a bunch of people, and don't want the stigma and costs of layoffs.
This seems pretty short sighted from an innovation standpoint; the "brightest and best" won't work for a company that does this kind of thing, at least not for long.
I'm not sure what MBA schools are teaching their students these days, but "long term planning" seemingly is as long as most CFO's and CEO's plan on keeping their job--about 2-4 years.

being told.
After the news of merit increases and raises came out we had a town hall in which it wasn't mentioned at all, and they just kept saying how happy they were with our progress and kept thanking us.
I think not paying increases and bonuses also puts the company in better position for mass layoffs--they won't cost as much.

I think the board must meet twice a day, and depending on what the stock is doing is how they determine strategic plans for the next 6 hours.

The company has 380K employees. I doubt it's for sale, but I guess it's possible.
I agree they are prepping for something, all I can figure is they are going to unload a ton of employees.
The messed up part is that bonuses are really for last years work, not for what I do next year. I guess those weekends and nights last year I worked didn't mean that much for all the money they made then. I'll be sure to use every second of my PTO this year(or as long as I am here), that's for sure.
It's going to be interesting come March after bonuses are paid, who stays and who leaves.

If their lease is coming up for renewal, their rent for office space could go WAY up. You really don't know.
Or they could just be giving you the shaft.

I guess they fixed that, at least for the next year.
I mean if they can't make money at 30% year over year growth, what will they do when it's flat growth? At some point..you can't lay off but so many people and still stay in business.
My department can't run any leaner. LOL..I actually made the corporate risk register last year because we were so lean. That got some people moving to make sure I was able to hire some people last year.

When profits go down you lay a bunch of people off and make a lot of cuts
But it's ok because we are a family here.

I just got a 16% raise round here. Still not making what the market average for my job is, But I don't work a full 40 hours a week so I got that going for me. Which is nice.

The only positive I can find out of this so far is that maybe I won't owe as much next year in end of year taxes.

I just of a few layoffs this morning and other "re-org" meetings being called now. The ones that were laid off got no severance or stock vesting.

Trickle down nonsense.
Have you considered working harder or pulling on your bootstraps?
With inflation over the past two years, it's criminal what companies are paying their employees in raises.
