Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Friday, took off work but didn't really do a lot. Just started to clean the house some and got a haircut. The evening saw us gather with Tote1 to celebrate his sweet lady's birthday.

Saturday, a few errands to get stuff for Thanksgiving. A little more cleanign. Survived the chaos that was that football game with no heart or ucler issues.

Sunday, pressurewashed the porch. It still needs more attention and a whole new paint job but it looks a lot better. Strongly recommed one of those round surface cleaner deals vs. trying just use a nozzle. I started building the wall mounted bottle opener that will be the prize for my youtube contest. Much to my dismay the clamps I have didn't work out so I'll need to get more clamps and probably start all over. However, wood filler and paint may save the day.

Sat - Went to the game and cheered on the tigers.

Sun - Church in the morning, housework, climbed a deer stand for an hour.

Ate at the Lucky Dill in Clearwater on Friday.

Saturday watched my Tiger's beat the Holes.

Sunday relaxed and watched football and ate egg rolls in a bowl that my wife made.

Watched footballs on sattidy, though the nooners were a dissappoint. Sat in the Lazy-V-Boy most of the day.

Sunday, cleaned and got ready to go to the mountains. Spent an hour or more figurrin' Prisma and AnMed bills. (Ennybody know how BCBS calculates what goes to deductible and OOP?)

8.33/10 (15.827 on the RH Covids scale), additions for a great Clemson athletics weekend but deductions for bills

Fri.: worked much too late, ate leftover pasta. D.

Sat.: extended my streak to two consecutive weeks of sitting in a box, this time for the Bama game. Ate some good food and had some good drinks. Got back in time to watch our game. Very solid win. A.

Sun.: church and then errands/kids/chores. Worked in the fall garden for a bit. Had a small gas leak at the house that threw us into disarray for a bit. Great weather and dinner was Home Team copycat wings, fresh butterbeans, and tomatoes. A.

Sunday was a nice 6-mile run, church, then lilAPM made it home from Elon and we washed his Corolla. Then APM live blogged his drinking. Fell asleep on the couch. Up to bed.

Anybody got suggestions for other SUVs?

but dependable like the yota and not terribly expensive is the Pilot Sport AWD or a trailsport.

$43K-$50K

As far as room, idk, pay double for a Tahoe that's going to need major repairs by 60K miles?

You need a third row or could you do a pickup? Very roomy second row on most full size pickups.

Same engine, transmission, basic body structure. I'm happy w/ my 2012 Limited until new 4Runner and Land Cruiser come out, but I probably wouldn't recommend buying the current dinosaur. I'll also say, it's a typical Toyota in that to get all the stuff you want on it, you've got to go way up in price over the more basic models. Waiting to see if 4Runners are still made only in Japan, the source of their reliability. I expect they'll be built in Mexico where Tacomas are made. I think I read the new, lower price Land Cruiser will be made in Mexico.

Them Koreans gut us figured out.

I bet their car meetings are like "Americans very fat! Car too small. Make car bigger, sell more car."

I had the Acadia, loved how it rode, room was ok with 2 car seats, 3rd row not very roomy.
Wife drives a Passport now. Doesn't drive very well, good tech, room just good enough for car seats. No 3rd row.

Now, a full size pickup for comparison (F-150) has 43.6 inches of legroom in the second row. That's a lot of room!!! And the other full size pickups are in the general range.

I don't know why I made the spreadsheet when I could have just sent you this link.

I'm actually looking to pull the trigger on a Nissan Armada by the end of the year. You might actually chat with Obed® if that's something that interests you, I seem to remember he likes the vehicle but also him saying that folks like yourself who have the horrific affliction of being tall might take issue with the front seats but for me, it checks every box. Just gotta find the exact model and feature set I'm looking for at a reasonable (in this car economy) price and without having to go a hundred miles to get it.

Don't go 100 miles. Have the car delivered to your house. This way you spend 0 minutes at the dealer. I have bought my last 2 new cars this way and it is moar better.

I almost had a deal in FL, they were going to charge me $300 to deliver it and the price was unbeatable. Except the guy called me later and said "I'm sorry, I can't sell it to you for the price I said earlier".

Late Last week, after nearly 4 years from the date I pre-ordered it, I took delivery of my Fisker Ocean.

Let me just go ahead and say - I am quickly in love with this #### car.

Had a couple of false starts the day it was delivered, a few error messages popped up, but nothing a couple system resets didn't fix, and those all seem to have gone away now.

Saturday, I took the car up to my friend's house in Cedar Park, to let him do a quick drive and smoke a couple racks of ribs before the football game. Watched the game, enjoyed the Tigers Win.

Sunday - Got up, and took the new ride to Cars and Coffee at Circuit of the Americas. Finally turned on the Hyper mode for a minute, and got to open it up to go from 0-100, and MAN, it's amazing. After that, I went home, and watched NFL while getting a couple slabs surfaced before I head to Australia.

Overall, the weekend was amazing.

I think 19B® has a slab of oak from that tree set aside for a table. I'd be happy to make something similar, but I can tell from looking at their stuff that place does good work when it comes to a lot more traditional stuff.

That said, a white oak table like that with minimal epoxy work would normally run about 12k.

White Oak is pretty cheap - I got 3ea 10' live edge slabs for $300

I'm betting they get significantly more at auction.

Saturday - up early, took dogs out, once it got to 10AM broke out the lawn equipment and worked in the back yard almost until the Clemson game. We have about ten oak trees in the back yard and they are so giving of their leaves this time of year. Watched the game, was somewhat pleased. I went shopping at half and missed not one play.

Sunday - slept in just a bit, church, cleaned out my closet and changed some light bulbs, saw just a few minutes of NFL.

Friday, Recovered from a couple days in New Orleans but did manage to grab a couple brews at Holiday Brewery with an old high school buddy on his way to Clemson. Took home a delicious pi squared pizza.

Saturday, Perplexing as great day tailgating with wife and Clemson daughter due to graduate in December and some of her friends. No pics. Cheering on the Tigers so standing multiple times throughout first half than we hear sit the F down by a man whose blood vessels were about to burst. Than calls wife a deragatory name with an even louder sit the F down. Half time comes wife calls him an embarrassing Clemson fan. I ask him to meet me outside the stadium and he mumbles. Grab a beer at halftime but wife doesn’t want to go back in game. Caught 4th quarter at bubba annie’s

Sunday, Willy Taco than Griswold stuff.

Friday - me and the wife finished getting the house ready for our families who are joining us this week for Thanksgiving. TabbyWife decided to go ahead and decorate for Christmas so our Thanksgiving will look more like Christmas this year. Everything from the nativity to 7 Christmas trees are up and decorated. Friday night I made a whiskey cake for the tailgate on Saturday...

Saturday - woke up around 6:00am, showered/shaved, got a cup of coffee, fed the cats, scooped the litter boxes, packed up Mrs. Tabby and the whiskey cake and left the house about 8:00am. Arrived in Clemson at the tailgate spot around 10:00am. Was immediately joined by Tabby BIL and SIL who brought some Chick-fil-A tenders and chicken mini's along with SIL's tortilla chip dips and taco soup. TabbyNephew (Clemson freshman) and his college friends joined us for fun conversation and breaking bread. Sipped on several Apple cyder spiced rum drinks (SIL specialty) and enjoyed a beautiful day in Clemson before going into DV about 3:00pm.

Watched and cheered our Tigers as they played their hearts out against the tarholes to get the win before fast footing it out the stadium and back to the car. Got home about 9:30pm and watched, with mild disappointment, the second half of the Coot vs Kentucky game. Finally got to bed about midnight...

Sunday - had lunch with my elderly FIL and MIL and spent the rest of the day binging Better Call Saul on Netflix.

Overall a great weekend with fantastic weather!!

Now on to Thanksgiving and the joy of spending time with siblings and other family members while giving thanks to God for all the blessings he bestows upon us.

Friday, Mrs. had a pretty bad cold all week so she was still on the mend so ran a few errands after work, came home and made stuffed portabello caps, watched three hours of AEW and fell asleep in the Big Chair.

Saturday, long early morning hike with the pup along the lake, a grocery run, home to watch the first three quarters of the game, left at the end of the third to head to Charlotte for Pat Travers Band show and listened to the end on the radio on the way up. Pat was excellent, didn't hurt having front-row seats. No opener and a 100-minute set, so I was back home before 11:00.

Sunday, short jaunt with the pup, then off to the Panthers game with a buddy who invited me. Stopped at Red Bowl in Tega Cay on the way up for lunch, hadn't been in a whole and it was pretty tasty. Traffic was a complete nightmare but we got to the seats right at kickoff. The entire stadium was Dalla fans, there were VERY few Panthers fans there...never seen anything quite like it. Still had a blast making fun of the team and its hapless dooooooshbag owner for four quarters. Back home around 6:00, walked the pup, then settled in to watch the series finale of Fear The Walking Dead.

All in all, straight up 19/19 Covids and a stellar sports weekend for Clemson all the way around.

We tailgated with my oldest, his girlfriend, and her family for a while. Then went and tailgated with my cousins whom I hadn't seen in a long time.

Went to game, had great seats, watched Nate Wiggins make one of the best hustle plays I think I've ever seen, and the Tigers got the win!

Got on the field afterwards and my son got pictures with Antonio Williams, Adams Jr., and Quadzilla so he was stoked!

Not so great night of sleep in the hotel and then drove back to Summerville. Got to chill for about an hour before going to downtown Charleston with the wife and some of her family that was in from out of town. Hit a few different spots for appetizers, lunch, and drinks and then did some shopping.

Slept great last night. Overall, would do again!

I drove up to Clemson Thursday night, and stayed at the Shephard Hotel (next door to where Slugs used to be, where the old bank on college avenue was). For the price, it was a heavy dose of "meh"; the room I had was tiny. Will go back to the Abernathy next time. Had a few beers at TTT, dinner at Chs Sports pub, and watched a band at TTT that was too loud, but not bad. They played rock from the 80-90's so it was kind of a throw back band for the students there now.

I thought about it and 30-40 year old music when I was at Clemson would have been like listening to Nat King Cole or Tony Bennet, and these kids are still listening to GnR and Bon Jovi. That's kinda weird.

Friday, drove to Easley or my ear Dr appt, then back home to CHS. Saturday and Sunday were kind of a blur, As I was working on boat trailer brakes all weekend. That became a constant stream of "###?" and now I have to buy a new surge brake master cylinder for it. I hate boat trailers.

I give it a 9/10 tinnitus cicada stars. It was fun but Clemson is really changing.

but it needed to happen. I think sick AF kid for 1 week + scrambling on house chores + work stress + family coming + holidays + adfeifjckbhapoeislf = wife and I needed to just pound it out.

family was in town, enjoyed that. other than that, I'm glad last week is in the rear view.

positives: we survived, antibiotics are working, only have to work today (I think, even though I have today off, #sales)
