Shipley is a 4.4 to 4.5 guy. That's plenty fast. Pro day or not he's got plenty of speed.

I would say paradise lost but it was never that. It was at least something I felt community with. I attended Clemson and game days still hold special memories for me. Now it’s business and no matter how much we care about the past the future is just $$$

Spiller had break-away home-run speed. Nobody chased down Spiller, that I recall. But Shipley got tracked down and tackled. I would have expected Shipley to be a 4.49 type guy.

Shipley had starting speed and a burst.
Spillers speed was more top end, not the start.
Ship was better breaking the line, and Spiller was better in the open field.
In the pros, Ship will not have many runs over 40 yards, Spiller did.
Ship may have been better catching passes downfield, which may help him in the pros.
Both were great. Different running styles.
I wish Ship had come back for his 4th season, but he already graduated with a 4.0.

He’s been caught from behind many many times. He’s missing a gear in the open field. Not sure if ball carrying or pads slow him down, but he’s not as fast on the field as his 40 time would suggest.

Congratulations to both XT and Will! Shipley gets a lot of crap from our fair weather fans and quite frankly, I’m tired of hearing it. He gave his all to his school, team, and community. I wish all of our NFL hopefuls the best because they deserve that from us.
