Special Teams Coaching

Special teams coaching has been atrocious for years, in the past it was masked by individually talented kickers and punters, but it has always been an Achilles heel.

For last three seasons it has cost us big time in big games:

2022: Notre Dame (blocked punt td) Coots ( fumbles at critical moments on kickoff and punt returns)

2023:
Lack of FG kicking costs us the FSU and the Duke games

2024:
Blocked field goals costs us against Louisville and they are still a big problem.

If we do make the playoffs/ACCCG this is our biggest liability by far. Playoff type games require a level of special teams proficiency that we are no where close to.

I know a lot of people are unhappy with a lot of the coaching staff but I think changes have to start with special teams..the coots special teams coach is worlds better than ours, I say we go after him!
