Just got back from a 6 day trip to South Africa for hunting. Got some good animals. Everything there is trying to kill you, even the ### trees. Thorns Three inches long like needles.
Go Tigers. Looking forward to a great season. Can't wait to cheer the tigers on.

Was there a year ago exactly. We were in Koster. You are right, the #### thorns are unbelievable and humans are nowhere near the top of the food chain

Well kind of. While it's not fair using a rifle, there is African animals that can come out of nowhere to challenge you for the kill. They have had leopards come out and try and take the animals. They are incredibly dangerous. We saw several hyenas licking their chops at the kills. So it's not rainbows and butterflies. People do get seriously injured. We were told of a previous hunter that engaged a large cat and ended up with 52 stitches. But don't tell my wife. She thinks it was butterflies and rainbows regarding the danger. Haha

.243, .270, and a 308. It's amazing they taught us proper shot placement to hit the hearts. With that you really don't need super large caliber. Just hit them right they go right down. Will change my whitetail hunting forever

Maybe for the non dangerous. Guy I worked for until he died went to Africa about once every two years from time he was 12 until 80. He killed everything. Had 6 sets of elephant tusks in living room. Rino's, Nyati, Lions, tiger, all the big cats. He said for the Nyati and lions, .375 was minimum. Elephants and Rino, .416 was minimum. He had a .375 h&h double barrel, a 458 won mag, and a 460 Wby he always took if going after dangerous stuff. Last trip, he took nothing but a .416 Rigby.
