Frank Reich. If Dabo wanted to start his own....

...."Coaching Rehabilitation Clinic" like Saban runs, then he could find no better person to start with than Frank Reich, recently fired coach of the Colts.
Reich would certainly fit into the Clemson culture. He is highly qualified, would be a tremendous asset in his coaching ability and would have no problem adjusting to Dabo's philosophy of coaching and life.
https://www1.cbn.com/700club/frank-about-his-faith Frank About His Faith
In the 1993 NFL playoffs, Frank Reich made headlines by orchestrating the biggest comeback in NFL history. And He wasn t shy about the vital role faith played in his life. Sports reporter Andrew Knox recently caught up with Frank and discovered Christ is still his driving force.

If anyone knows QB instability, it would be Frank Reich.

I remember the 42-40 come from behind win he orchestrated in 1984 against the Miami Hurricanes. Miami led 31–0 at the half. The Maryland offense, lead by Reich, outscored Miami 42-9 in the second half to win the game. To this day, Jimmy Johnson uses that game as an example for why he had no hesitation or reservations about running-up the score on opponents.

religion got to do with this? We can bring in an atheist for all I care, as long as we get back to playing good football and doing it consistently. Religion is a PERSONAL matter, and I think last night we saw that a lot of people don’t want someone else’s religious beliefs crammed down their throats.

I was just pointing out that Reich would not having a problem fitting in with Dabo's culture. He would not be a disruption to the coaches' room.

Who said anything about “winning at all costs”?

Is that what you think hiring a coach who happens to be atheist would mean? You just tend to your conscience and let the rest of us tend to ours. I believe in religious freedom - a founding principle of this country, btw - and that includes freedom from religion, as Saint Ronnie Reagan’s youngest son likes to say.

Freedom of religious choice was on the ballot?

Dang, I didn’t know that! That would be a serious threat to democracy. Which religion were those states trying to force down people’s throats?

I'll be totally honest, before dear ole Clemson has an atheist coaching and leading the young men of Clemson FB, I would rather we slip back to the Tommy West days, I sure would!!!

That would be a interesting hire. To see what changes he would suggest to the coaches.

As a matter of info, his brother is the head coach at Wingate in NC. They have a pretty solid program at the D2 level. Frank will be an NFL OC or head coach again come January.

By all accounts, Reich is a good coach, great man and is considered a players coach. Never threw anyone under the bus - coaches or players. However, Colts offense is putrid! Offensive line was supposed to be top shelf preseason but have absolutely stunk it up so far. How much of that is on Coach Reich and how much is on GM Ballard is anyones guess but oline issues ruined Andrew Luck and ended Peyton’s career as a Colt. My opinion is Frank Reich was the scapegoat but other heads will roll postseason. Interim coach, Jeff Saturday, has a total of two years coaching experience at the high school level. Now a head coach in the NFL? I would absolutely take a chance on Reich. High character individual. Full disclosure: I’ve lived in Indy for 12 years.
