Like it or not, Clemson's perception is tied to the ACC.
So far, the ACC has
- Lost to Hawaii
- Survived against directional school East Carolina
- Manhandled a school one step above a community college (still gave up 17 pts though)
There is zero room for error.

That’s actually not true. Top 5 conferences get auto bids. Power 4 conferences just have a high probability of being 4 of the 5.

It was created by ESPN.
I'll pay you $1000.00 if you can find one sports radio or talk show that doesn't spend 90% of their time spewing about "conferences".
Just one.
(Spoiler alert: there isn't any.)
It is ALL they talk about....period.
As the number of teams in the Playoffs increases( and the Regular season gets more and more watered down ) the 1st priority for any team is to get into the Playoff.
All these theories regarding the "changes" coming are just that. For me, the only undeniable fact is that $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is going to decide everything.
I find it odd why I should concern myself with the football teams of Stanford, Virginia, etc., etc., etc.

Florida State would say you are wrong. But, Clemson is NOT FSU. ACC CONFERENCE CHAMPION IS IN. At least for the coming season. By 2029 or sooner, the only teams in the CFBCG will be teams from SEC/BIG.

I dont think going undefeated and not making the playoffs is a concern. However I can definitely see the league sucking being held against a 2 or 3 loss team that doesn't get the auto bid when it comes time to award the at large bids.

Watching Boise-S. Florida last night, something on the crawl left me scratching my head. The "Allstate Playoff Predictor" gives Clemson a 37% chance of making the playoffs. I waited for it to come around again to make sure I read it corectly.
How could a team currently ranked 4th, that has talent (as identified by various outlets) and a favorable schedule (by those same outlets) only be given a 37% chance of just making the playoffs when I have seen other predictions in the upper 60's and one at 80%? What kind of metrics are they using for that one?
