Why are we spending taxpayer dollars for Elon to blow up

rockets?
For those that think it’s valuable research to support a colony on mars…nobody is ever going to live on mars. Thats lunacy. Think of the support staff required for the rinky dink international space station and the budget for that thing and shid goes wrong on it all the time. What’s the staff burden and budget gonna be for a mars colony? And don’t forget the moon base that will be needed to support manned mars missions too. It ain’t happening…Ever. By the time we spend all that effort and money, it would be infinitely more efficient to fix the earth we effed up.
As it stands, we’re paying for Elons toy vanity project.

We are paying a lot more to other companies (see: Boeing) with an even worse track record of both failure and ROI
At least the Falcon/Dragon combo works

how many starship rockets now? The failure rate is bad enough without the consideration that it’s for a useless project that will never happen.

it’s no different than Eli Lilly testing 97 drugs that fail for every one that works. The failures are just more dramatic for space X.

Just humorous to call a catastrophic explosion a major anomaly

Regardless it would seem to be a bad day for Musk. Maybe too much time away from the office?

IMO the moon stuff is a waste of money also. Yes it’s extremely cool that people walked on the moon and planted flags. It’s interesting to see pictures and videos of the moon I agree. But in the grand scheme of things and with all the issues we have here on earth that affect our daily lives, is it really worth all the tax dollars spent on it?

Those tax dollars don’t just disappear into thin air.
It goes back into the economy and a lot of useful/ practical tech comes out of it

Same with all the equipment left on the moon. It's just hardware, the money was just recirculated via wages and payments. Maybe some people would like it recirculated differently. But I agree that sending funds to or through Leon's companies is a waste.
