Sometime you need a little luck...

...and we didn't get any with our scheduling this year.

The ACC is WAY up this year, and we drew all the (3) best teams from our crossover schedule, plus ND. ADD in that FSU is way up, and GT is much improved and it's a much different conference schedule (top to bottom) than we've seen maybe ever in Dabo's tenure.

We drew:

Duke (4-0)
Miami (4-0)
UNC (4-0)
Syracuse (4-0)
Wake Forest (3-1)

Record: (19-1)

Permanent Rivals are:
FSU (4-0)
NC State (3-1)
GT (2-2)

Rivals Record: (9-3)

Crossover + Rivals Combined Record: (28-4) - WOW!!

Teams we didn't draw (until 2025-26) are straight up dog terd right now...

UVA (0-4)
VT (1-3)
BC (1-3)
Pitt (1-3)
Louisville (4-0)

Current record: (7-13)

I’m with you for the most part but 1/3 of the way through the season GT is ranked 78 (Sagarin) next to Georgia State and Georgia Southern. And they don’t even run the triple option anymore so no special preparation.

Which is a large improvement over their team last year when we played them (won: 41-10).

They were terrible last year the first 4 games of the season. They got their doors blown off by every P5 team they played.

Yes the ACC is very good this year, the ACC and the soon to be defunct Pac12 were both predicted as the weakest 2 power 5 and are in fact the strongest with the best QB play also.

ACC has dominated both the big10 and sec head to head and even the few games those conferences won were pre determined layup matchups like tn vs virginia.

Its almost like nature has invisible laws built in that when you try to control and manipulate things which should not be which should be left to organic circumstance it blows up in your face and it has.

dont wanna get into a long ramble but was never worried about the left out of big10 and sec thing, lets just hope we have a shell of a country left in 5 years, if you really think vanderbilt will still be getting 100 million checks in 5 years simply for being in the sec, i have some tropical property to sell you in greenland. were going to be living in a dramatically different world very soon and conference affiliation for college football will seem like a funny memory.

but back to the original topic QB play is great in the ACC this year, some good coaches overall. The SEC is starting to remind me of the post 2009 new york yankees where they quit developing anything in a "homegrown" way they just go out and poach teams they cant beat, they buy favorable air time on tv to invent invisible entities like "SEC speed" and by doing all that they actually get lazy and are worse off because of it, they have been so accustomed to preferential treatment they forget its hard to win big games.

LOL. When we stomped BAMA in San Francisco...I believe they

said we were built like an SEC team...Is my memory failing me? Or did they not say that?

Even Fakebaum said we were by far the closest to looking like a SEC team as well as the atmosphere in Death Valley being SEC like.

We used to be world beaters and now are complaining about ACC foes. Oh how far the mighty have fallen and I’ll add, don’t even see it. 12-team playoff is coming soon and if it was in place today we wouldnt get in

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don't read that far into.

nobody is complaining.

Simply pointing out, that our conference schedule couldn't have had a stronger line up of teams outside our permanent rivals.

Simply stating facts on the strength of our schedule.

would have been a good to have a playoff caliber record

b/c there'd be no debate that we'd be in

With a little luck we can help it out
We can make this whole #### thing work out
The willow turns his back on inclement weather
And if he can do it we can do it

Can't you feel the town exploding?
With a little push, we could set it off,
We could send it rocketing skywards....
