Why would they amnounce this? That's the best stuff we've got in the air and there are a lot of folks who like to have some of it.

Don't I now how large the area may be but I can imagine debris might be scattered over a broad area rendering security a real challenge. Sure hope it's successful.

There's a lot of debris in Williamsburg County on a good day. If the illegal migrants were bussed there and word returned to their native land, border crossings would plummet.

The one question that I've not seen asked by the media nor voluntarily provided by the Pentagon spin masters is:
"Why did the pilot have to eject from a plane that was still able to fly for 80 or more miles?"
This could have really turned out bad - that plane could have crashed into a public space - school, shopping mall etc.. and killed a lot of people. The Pentagon owes us more answers than they are giving.
Me thinks there was either a serious controls malfunction in that plane that they don't want to disclose or there was something about the actual pilot or their error that they don't want to be made public. Based on the Marines announced "safety stand-down" I'm leaning towards a major pilot Fk-up.
I normally support Pentagon secrecy but in this instance where an $85 to $100 million taxpayer dollar investment is abandoned in the air by the pilot and continues fly for some 80 miles without any clue as to where it is crashing - they owe the public a long list of truthful answers.

Or make up a good story....

Unfortunately, I spent quite a bit of time in the Pentagon during the last several years of my military career and saw first hand the types of people that run that place. They are more politician than warrior as there is a distinct difference between the Pentagon careerists and those who serve in the line units.
As such, never underestimate what the largest bureaucracy in the world will do to secure their own interests - including pressuring honest men to get in line with their contrived "story". Prime example - see how they publicly handled Pat Tillman's death in Afghanistan when in fact they knew within hours he was killed by friendly fire.
But... as you say - let's see what answers come out of this. I just hope the media doesn't let go of the story now that the aircraft has been found and instead keeps hounding them at every press conference for full answers.

Pilot eject is apparently automatic with this type. As in, the pilot doesn't initiate it, the software does.
