sticks. He's just not well known nowadays unless you love classic jazz... ditto for Buddy Rich, Joe Morello, Elvin Jones, Max Roach, and many others. I love the great rock guys as much as anybody...John Bonham, Neil Peart, etc... but there's just something about the technique of those older guys.

I would agre. I startd playing a few years back and discovered Morello. Great player. Met a guy who knw him. He said he was an even nicer gentleman. Most dont know it but Mel Torme was aalso a fine drummer. Jerry Lewis, Sammy Davis Jr and Johnny Carson were all pretty decent players
