Some interesting early portal entrants

1

Dec 9, 2024, 4:34 PM

Not saying we should go after or could get any of these, but they were the ones that caught my attention

Eric Singleton: Ga Tech. This will be an auction and he will command a high price
Bear Alexander: Stud UGA DT who transferred to the real USC last year. Back in again
David Ojiebe: Former Clemson edge who left for Pitt and back in again
Chandler Morris: Would he consider coming here as a backup with a legitimate title shot??

When does the 105 scholarship limit go into effect?

Right now, we sitting at 86 scholarships players and that number includes the incoming freshmen less the three who entered the portal today and those players who are out of eligibility.

Of course, that number will continue to be moving target as other players enter the portal or leave early for the NFL.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

July.

But, I've yet to see the ACC announce anything about it. The SEC is sticking at 85 for next year.

Don't think Chandler Morris want to come and be the back up QB

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, he left TCU, and he wants a big time shot again

he'll likely get one, had an excellent year

Striper with attrition do you feel we could easily get 4-5 out of the portal? We are running close on numbers now and you and I know after spring ball that number will continue to drop.

I have no idea the number

but I do believe we use the portal this year. Depends on where some guys leave. As Dabo has stated, right now, they don't anticipate losing any starters.

No thanks on Morris. Finishing 9th in the American conference is an excellent year?

Individually, he had a good year***

It must not be real hard to maintain eligibility in the Classroom,

2

Dec 9, 2024, 4:56 PM

if that is even a requirement any longer. You would think transferring 2-3 times would effect your ability to have enough credit hours to transfer. Academic eligibility doesn't even feel like a concern anymore, is it?

With all the talent coming back if we picked up 3 solid players in the portal (DE LB and a running bank) we could be a real contender next year. To win it all. Not saying favorites. But a bye team. Be ashame if we don’t.

I do not believe it has any bearing whatsoever. Not sure how you would go about getting a degree jumping from school to school. I’m OCD and would be stressed out moving around and trying to stay on top of school work.

I really hope it works out for these kids that do not get their degrees and end up not getting into the league.

Need some good folks around you to help manage your funds and keep you on the right path. Invest 4 to 500,000 a year for a few years you could manage dependent on your spending habits of course.

School is just a sideshow for these kids.
