Social media policy

Oct 1, 2023, 3:32 PM

How come our players don’t give up social media during the season like they used to?

I know to most this doesn’t seem like a big deal but little things like this add up. This team has discipline issues (not in the trouble making sense) and we need to get better.

Aside from tackling, fumble, and a couple questionable coaching calls; I was very pleased with how we played.

It's called NIL. Social media = $. It's not going anywhere and there's nothing coaches can do about it.

But I agree - it's a major distraction.

I think it was captain’s decision when the would do the season ban.

Now social media is even more so interwove into life - especially for that age - I don’t see how a multi-month ban is possible. Beside most of the NIL deals probably have something to do with plugging wares on the internets.

as others mentioned the DARPA created disease/weapon that is social media is no longer simply a sidebar, its woven into the digital economy/ social credit system to come. which is already really in operation under a thousand different names aka woke, race politics, lawfare etc etc

Views equal $$ value for NIL

They had banned social media just 2yrs ago but was dropped as value added for NIL sponsors to drive revenue to players and investors especially if player represents a service, product or restaurant.

I know people keep pointing to this

But can you find any examples of players making distracting or bad posts on social media? arguing with fans or something? I haven’t heard of any issues with that.

Usually the stuff they post is just pretty basic photos of themselves playing or with teammates. It’s carefully cultivated. I’ve even noticed it with other sports at Clemson to. Very little actual personal stuff. They are getting advice on it all.

The team has SM training and coaching provided by the NIL program created for players.
