over the last decade at Chestnut Hill. And before you "Trevor this" or "Deshaun that", the second highest scoring game for the good guys was DJU last year. Florida State gave up 29 in one game 4 days ago. BC only scored 24 against Northern Illinois - IN OVERTIME. The only scored 31 against Holy Cross. Nebraska's utterly putrid offense put up 35 on North Illinois. Just food for thought while trying to convince yourselves about how great Norvell and his Noles are.
We allowed 77 against Duke over the equivalent number of games in Durham (4). That 2.3 times what we allowed at BC. So if you're finding someway to excuse FSU's performance at BC then you should be willing to excuse up to 44 points or so surrender at Duke. Because that would be the relative performance.

So which do you think was more of an outlier. Us only scoring 7 at Duke (far more signifcant than them scoring 28) or them giving up 29 to a terrible offense while having a total defense ranked over 100? Considering we won every statistical category except turnovers in the Duke game I'm pretty sure it a bigger outlier than a bad defense performing badly. But I guess we have to wait till Saturday.

I see it being a close game tbh, based on home game FSU history alone, no particular football reason.
but our "outliers" have become more trends lately (3-4 vs last 7 P5 teams).......so we'll see

I'm choosing to believe that our young qb is growing and that our coaches are finding complimentary weapons for him. He had a major setback against Tennessee but seems to be steadily making progress. DJU never recovered from the game against Georgia except for a single, inexplicable Wake Forest game. I've watched enough football to know not to pick the outcome. But I have no reason not to be confident in our guys.

As that time period. But to think we were going to continue on forever to be as dominant on offense and defense as we were for the six straight CFB appearances, 4 national title game appearances, and two national title victories is absurd. The “trends” still don’t matter. The only thing that matters is this, the way we finish the rest of the season and the fact that Dabo has always proven the doubters wrong. So show up and show out on Saturday. All that nonsense the pundits talk about doesn’t matter.

My point is Saturday will resolve it and this is interesting but will have little to do with the final result. Speculation is fun but we will know for sure in a few days.

Just to make sure we are talking about the point I was responding to, VizTiz wrote, “But I guess we have to wait till Saturday.”
My comment was, that is the most relevant point because everything else is idle speculation. I was agreeing with that quote.

We need to establish a running game and limit fsu's time of possessions. Plus win the turnover margin in order to win. Fsu's offensive line will not be able to push our defensive front around.

correlations in our respective performances vs BC in terms of this Saturday.
FSU played their first nooner on the road against an always tough but normally on the wrong side of the equation BC. Could they have been overlooking that game some in anticipation of playing us? Some factor, probably. But now they also have a road league nooner under their belts which improves that factor heading into this weekend.
Winning is hard, and sometimes an inferior opponent on paper just has your number that day. FSU managed to outlast and overcome that type of game in Boston, so they have that under their belt also. We've managed that same feat many times over the years in championship seasons, and sometimes on the wrong side - it's part of the mix.
FSU has been up there with Georgia as our biggest rival the last bunch of decades. While Georgia is more personal, FSU is more often, and largely the one program standing in the way of league titles. Neither of us is each other's Duke or BC.
I do feel like we match up very well with FSU in all phases minus PK, and we have tons of tape on their QB, this being his year 6. I trust Wes to dial up some smothering nasty to bury their passing attack, and G Money to put his under the radar WR and QB corps to work bigly. With a 2-headed monster in the backfield, we have a lot of firepower we're bringing into High Noon Saturday.
Go Tigers!

Perhaps it’s just the company you keep - like constantly upvoting and defending a poster like Judge Keller who actively denigrates the football program and makes personal digs at the coach. I know you’ve commented that you think him bashing the football team is funny or great (don’t recall the exact words) because it makes people who do the same to Brownell mad. There is no comparison between those programs and if you’re such a super fan and tearing down Brownell ticks you off so should the same not be true about Swinney? I’m pretty sure you like to throw hypocrite around a bunch too. And no matter how many times you ask I’m not poring through the rabid sack of cats that is your 20+ thousand posts.

So you are, in fact, going with PJ Hall is a liar. But I CANT simply use search and prove that because you don’t use that word. You just directly contradict him and insist your account is true. That’s calling him a liar but you’ll say the same about me because I can’t direct to a specific post that says “PJ a hall is a liar”. You do internet like a pro.

It’s called paraphrasing, summarizing, and hyperbole. Do you see any quotes in there. Have you not chosen to attack me when I engage with others about Brownell? Do you not attack when I say things in support of Dabo? You also lend your approval via TUs to people with really crappy things to say about our football program and lend your approval to folks with a delusional appraisal of our basketball coach via the same. So, while my comments may be snarky, hostile, or hyperbolic, they are not lies as you would perpetuate. They are a reasonable presumption based on how you choose to express yourself on this board.

Is that your default when something goes over your head. Just because you don’t like the explanation doesn’t mean it isn’t one. Most rational people would, at that point, agree to disagree and move on.

I really think too many of y’all are over analyzing one game for FSU. They are human and honestly I don’t think they took that game too seriously. We are going to get their best shot. If we don’t play lights out we’ll get beat comfortably.
