One of the excuses I have read here over the last few years is that we don’t have the talent we need. This is often blamed on other teams “cheating” by using the portal and NIL.
So which is it? Are we lacking in elite talent or not?

Or said elite talent isn't developing as expected. DJ5 is a perfect example. He bumped up our overall rating but transferred.
Saying, overall, yes we meet the threshold with the numbers but you have to do a deep dive into those numbers as well. For example, we have superior defense numbers that tend to raise the per player rating. While we may have an elite defense, we miss on other positions.
Just like bball last year. We had the right mix of elite talent and experience. If we had 3 5* centers, our ppr would be sky high... but not all the 5* can play at the same time. It skews the numbers.

Or we have the talent, but the best are injured making us a better than average team unable to overcome unlucky breaks like going cold from the 3-point line.
