You mean Oklahoma and Texas? If so, while they definitely are outside of the normal SEC footprint, that isn't nearly as insane to me as what the ACC is considering.

Texas is in a state with an existing SEC member. Oklahoma is in a state that borders 3 states with existing SEC members.

Miami to Boston is 1500 miles so we aren't exactly congruently aligned in the ACC either but no one disagrees that the proximity to CA isn't ideal.

You bring up a good point, but I wonder how many of the younger occasional fans even know what ACC stands for?
How will the non-revenue sports deal with travel to CA ?

It really sucks that football from my childhood is gone. It feels wrong.
But the SEC expanded and the Southwest conference collapsed when I was too young to know better. So I’m sure older fans probably felt it was ruined then. So I guess on some level things always change.
But it feels like these expansions are much worse than prior expansions.
