I believe the Grant of Rights was signed in 2016. Which means NIL and the 12-team playoff was still a long way from being put in the sport of college football. Apparently there has been some heated discussions at the meetings.
So, the ACC administration is getting mad at CLEMSON now?? Clemson is the only reason, quite literally when I say only, that the ACC has been competitive in the playoff era. And they have the audacity to argue with us about what we need financially.
What Clemson University deserves is the ability to stay elite. Or even the hope to. If we stay in the ACC folks, Clemson football will eventually decline. I don’t care what all they’re saying about anything, there is no way for the ACC to ever compete with the SEC and BIG10 financially. We would be stuck in a failed conference.
I’m not accusing the ACC of anything, but it seems like Clemson is being taken for a ride. They know Clemson is a very friendly administration, and they feel that they can sugar coat some things to get us to do what they want.
We are a ACC charter member and have dealt with the lower level ACC for years. More than any of these other BS football schools like Boston College. What they should be doing is preparing celebratory events for Clemson for its rich history in the ACC, and then just bud out and be done forever. They should be thankful for what we’ve done.
Clemson is the most screwed over program out of anyone in all this conference realignment. And it’s because of the manipulation of the ACC. They will take advantage of our people if they know it will save their as*es.
Group of 8. At least there is an expanded playoff. We will have more of a chance than the Power 5 did. But we will be about as competitive as the Power Five was.
