Bought the bamboo sheets over a year ago, and they were fantastic for some time. Just within the last couple of weeks I started to notice the pilling. They were really cool last summer.

Slept cool, and I slithered around as easily as a snake on motor oil. Great for fat/sweaty people. Will see how long they last, but my last sheets literally were tearing apart. Way cooler than I first thought based on how they seemed thick and like satin. Completely different breathability although a similar feel.

100% cotton made the South great. I love 100% cotton sheets.

clothes too, but I recognize that miracle fibers can be great for cooling in hot weather. Dress oxford shirt, 100% cotton. Maybe for other clothes, not for sheets.

Rayon, or viscose, is typically made from eucalyptus wood. Bamboo fiber is made using the same (or very similar) process.
Rayon is a bit more durable, though not quite as soft to the touch.

But they're definitely cooler and more comfortable than cotton. The only decent cotton sheets I've found are hard to find. There's some special weave that's cooler, then you have to find a super low thread count, then those feel pretty good and are cool. But they're very hard to find. Everyone thinks higher thread counts are better, and for me it's the opposite.

put a mini split in the bedroom so you can keep it frigid without running something in the rest of the house.

the "t-shirt" sheets are pretty good too if you get the thicker material.
those gimmick non-cotton fabric sheets are great at first but as everyone says already, they don't wear well. A few washings and they are done.
