We needed 18 of the things, so I purchased 9 pairs.
I just got NINE emails from UPS about a delivery coming today. Whatever happened to the Home Depot truck coming by and dropping off all of them?

especially not for DTC.
any last mile delivery they do have is allocated for HD Supply now that they're back under the Home Depot umbrella.
broader point, the LTL / Freight last mile delivery space is getting gobsmacked by UPS and FedEx. Since Amazon took most of their freight under their transportation group, those two got a lot of capacity.
Amazon's transportation budget was over $30B in 2019, think they're pushing $80B today. They spend as much in transportation as UPS makes in a year.
Given all this mix up, and the concentration of market dominance by UPS and FedEx (which as you know leads to higher pricing), I'm actually working with a few customers right now to figure out ways to get more self-reliant within the last mile space and mimic what amazon is doing.
The whole Teamsters strike at UPS certainly helped propel that strategy.

I'd pick them up myself if I had a truck.

We need one. Plan was to get him a used one.
Not interested though in a $43,000 used 2018 pickup truck with 170K miles.

IMO Amazon's transportation network is the most impressive/valuable

aspect of their company.
Same for Oculus and Meta. Once Meta figures out they want to get into live sports with Oculus, gonna be a game-changer. Imagine courtside seats for $15.

albeit, that's probably obvious haha
however, I think the Street would argue the AWS is more valuable.

It's just amazing to me that Bezos was like, "We're losing too much money outsourcing shipping" and then created a nationwide delivery network that now drops off orders within hours.
