Comparison: Gas now @ $3.67 gal; Same time under Trump

it was $1.96 per gallon.

Which price suits your pocket book?

Oh, Biden has announced that 45 million gallons will be taken from our emergency fuel reserve (again) to help lower gas prices for several New England states
which is basically a “vote for me” gesture.

Lastly, more Federally funded college debt erasure was announced which will bring total to $169 BiLLION!!

Boy those DEMs have always been smarter than REPUBs in giving our bank funds away for dear ole causes, and for gratitude votes!! LOL~

You're comparing current gas prices to May 2020 prices?

"President Joe Biden celebrated the September consumer price index on Thursday, highlighting core inflation falling to its lowest level since September 2021."

ok...so you know core inflation exists as a measure for a reason, right?...

it takes out things like energy and food, that can swing quickly from month-to-month, to get a picture of how items that are typically more stable are moving.

That doesn't mean that the administration has removed energy from inflation measures, or whatever over-the-top statement you made above.

Core inflation slowing is meaningful. It's a useful indicator. Like anything to do with an index, it isn't the complete picture and doesn't claim to be...THAT'S WHY IT'S GOT THE WORD 'CORE' IN IT!

Come on man.

The Biden admin does so many bad things and has so many bad policy positions...why the need to distort things?

"things cost more now than they did 4 years ago, and the only difference I can think of is that Trump was President then and Biden is President now", then there really isn't a point in discussing something about which you've already made up your mind. It doesn't matter even a little to you that this global inflation was happening whether Trump or Biden was in office in 2021. That's too much to consider, apparently, so just go with "ALL I KNOW IS I BUY FOOD EVERY WEEK AND IT COSTS MORE NOW SO TRUMP IS BETTER".

I'm pointing out that core inflation has it's place.

Inflation slowing doesn't mean prices are coming down. It means the rate of increase is slowing.

But if you want to really get into food prices...lots of food prices have actually come down recently. Apples and eggs are noticeably down. Milk is also down a bit. Others have gone up. Your impact depends on what you purchase.

I have this mental image of you as a guy in the crowd in South Park yelling "They took rrr jobs!!"

After tripling, they're back down to only double... That's progress.***

just that the original commented statement about Biden dropping energy from inflation measure was a stupid comment.

Inflation has sucked. It's sucked all over the world. I don't like Biden either, but I don't think he's responsible for much of it directly. If anything, I hold him responsible for not rolling back the stupid Trump tariffs.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Central bankers are reaping the profits. Massive investment firms will be buying up the next wave of home mortgage defaults... '08 redux.

but I don't think that's going to impact the avg consumer too much.

The stuff that hits the most remain unchanged.

As for Copper...it'll likely be good for us. We have a number of contracts that adjust price based on the PPI and we normally aren't hit as hard in reality as the PPI figure shows. So raising material costs, normally mean increased margins over time...especially in the sellers market that we have now.

I smell another pricing increase!!

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up
