So am I reading the tournament bracket wrong?

All the bracketology that I see has Clemson in the "South" playing in Seattle. The "South" consists of Lexington, Seattle, Providence, and Cleveland.
Anyone able to explain how that makes sense? Maybe I'm looking at it wrong.

The locations of the first two rounds are not set in stone. They will change depending on the seedings. However, once you get to the Sweet 16 and Elite 8, if you are in the South bracket, you'll play in Atlanta.

Ok, makes sense. Thought it might be a dumb question.

Well, I mean there are two California teams, and one from Texas in the Atlantic Coast conference, so yeah, geography has pretty much gone out of the window at this point.

The regions (East, South, Midwest, West) are usually defined by where the location for Sweet 16/Elite 8 is played at in each region.
Used to be more region-specific for 1st/2nd rd games but think that changed in recent years

The direction of the quadrant refers to the location of the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games, and these are typically closer in location to the top seeds of that quadrant. For instance, Auburn is the projected 1 seed in the South, Duke in the East, and Houston in the Midwest. The only discrepancy is Florida in the West though the is more due to them being the worst 1 seed of the four and getting the last pick in quadrant location.
The Rounds of 64 and 32 are preset locations and spread across the country in similar fashion as the quadrants to represent the variety of teams that would represent seeds 1-4. Typically, the higher the seed, the closer they are to those locations for these rounds.

The bracket doesn’t come out until Sunday evening.
Hope that helps.
