So after 8 weeks

Oct 21, 2019, 9:21 AM

7 SEC teams have losing records (conference and overall); of the other 7, 5 are ranked IN THE TOP 10!!

What's your point? Those 5 teams either have 0 losses or 1 loss.

ACC has 5 teams with losing records, another 4 teams are 4-3. 2 ranked teams.

Not sure how any of this impacts clemson. If we win out we're in, if we drop a game we're probably out

It is a statement of fact, not an argument

And it has no impact on Clemson, hence its being posted on "Other Teams" board.

So what should be our takeaway from this fact? What is the so what?***

Found it interesting; I guess you didn't

Here is what I found interesting.

These teams are all getting credit for being in the "best conference in the land", but:

#1 Alabama has played none of the other 4 ranked SEC teams, and has 2 to play (preseason #2)
#2 LSU has played 1 (1-0), and has 2 to play (preseason #6)
#7 Florida has played 2 (1-1), and has 1 to play (preseason #8)
#9 Auburn has played 1 (0-1), and has 3 to play (preseason #16)
#10 Georgia has played none, and has 2 to play (preseason #3)

There have been a grand total of 2 games played involving two of these teams, and there are 5 left to play (6, including the SEC championship game).

Bama has played nobody in conference and nobody out of conference, but has moved up past an undefeated team in the rankings.
LSU has beaten #7 Florida, but how good did Florida look Saturday, and how impressive is that Texas win looking about now?
Florida beat Auburn, but was only a 5 point favorite vs unranked SCAR Saturday, and did not look impressive in winning.
Auburn has beaten Oregon, but lost to the only other currently ranked team they have played (Florida)
Georgia beat Notre Dame, but outside of that has played no one.

These teams are only where they are because of the preseason rankings, and 4 of the 5 have moved up since then (2 of them with losses). Will be interesting to see what will happen when they take the field against each other instead of beating up on the bottom half of the conference.
