back into believing in this team. Driving home from Durham I was convinced this season was a wash and we were finished. But seeing some clips of the offense and looking at the stats I have fully talked myself into believing we can string off some wins. This is probably gonna end poorly for me but who cares. What is being a fan even about if you don't blind believe in your guys? Looking forward to the rest of the year and go tigers!

I think a lot of us are with you on that. I was horrified after both games, and felt better after re-watching them both.
I was on the "our receivers NEVER get separation" bandwagon, but I was wrong.
Cade is still getting his feet under him, in this offense, and I believe he'll get there. Not dissing Cade, but many times they were open early, but more tightly covered by the time the ball got there. I expect that timing improves each game.
And yes....GO Tigers!

I’m on board with you. Even during the Duke game I saw offensive play design miles ahead of where we have been the last 4 or 5 years. I still think the coaching staff needs an overhaul, but I’m optimistic. I know it was only CSU, but that second half was the best I’ve seen this team play in years. It looked like our old teams where we would routinely get the second and third string in the game. Haven’t seen that in years either.

Our "old teams" were three yards and a cloud of dust. Over and over and over again. It got a little mind numbing to be sure. Go Tigers!

I think the key to enjoying the season is expectations. We always look at success through the lens of a national title contending season. I'm just going to try to enjoy each game individually and hope we win. If we lose, I'll wash it and get ready to root for the team the next week for the next game. One loss at the beginning of the season shouldn't ruin the season. The college football season is too short to not try to enjoy it.

he's one of 3-4 OCs that shoulda been hired one year earlier over our last OC.
In order for our offense to "work" we must have 2 of 3 things. Competent/brilliant OC, competent/capable QB, & highly skilled WRs.
We have nowhere NEAR the WR talent that we're used to having (ie 2015-2019/20), but those deficiencies can only be somewhat masked by a competent OC who can scheme them open AND a QB that can get them the ball...........hopefully Cade and our WRs be better than they have been in the next week & a half.

what in the HAYULL is he doing at DUKE?? Are you telling me that Duke is a more attractive place for a 5-Star QB to spend his college career as an NFL prospect, especially considering our recent history of sending starting QBs to the NFL?

He’s referring to Garret Riley, not Riley Leonard.

I'm just trying to keep my expectations in check until after the FSU game. Then, I think I will understand how realistic to be for the rest of the season.

A great season for us this year is 10-2. Unless our receivers suddenly become elite, we are weak there. QB play has got to improve. Love our running backs - all of them. They remind me of the stable that Danny had with Flowers and Flagler, et al.
Our D is good, but not near what we're used to...yet. They supposedly have some dudes. We'll see.
We could just as easily go 8-4 if the wheels fall off. We haven't won a big game in a few years, and really don't appear to have the chip, heart or fire of past years. We have gotten supposedly highly rated recruits, but seemed to have done better with the kids that were 4 or 5 stars until they didn't choose bammer and suddenly turned into 3 or 4 stars when they came to Clemson.
Dabo is still the man. Love our culture and what he's trying to do. Don't care if he doesn't ever use the port hole as long as he wins, but we may have fallen behind.
I think his comments were telling on the article about Joe Splatt, when asked if we were Natty material. He really hedged. Seems like a departure from his unbridled enthusiasm of years past.
Hope we win 'em all and that I am eating crow after the season.

If Cade can eliminate some of his mistakes, we have a chance to be good. Very, very good. Hopefully the FAU game will help him along and get him ready for FSU. To beat them, we need to be mistake-free, IMO.
