at our 38 after Ian Book gets sacked on 3rd down. ND brings out the FG unit to attempt and 55 yarder and it looks like they might not get the snap off in time. With 1 second left on the play clock a TO is called by... Dabo? Watching live i assumed Kelly called the TO to avoid the delay of game, but then it was charged to Clemson and the announcing crew revealed that Dabo had called it. The only reason i can think of that Dabo would call a TO there is if he was wary of a ND fake (we were lined up in FG block and not FG safe). However, waiting until there was just 1 second left on the clock to call the TO is a bit strange. It does seem a bit fishy for ND to attempt a 55 yard FG down 20 points though since 1) 3 points isn't a great help there, and 2) there's a good chance you're kicker misses it anyway.
After the TO ND comes back out with their punter which i guess makes sense if they had a fake called and decided to abort it when Dabo called the TO.. except when Dabo called the TO with 1 second on the play clock ND snapped the ball and appeared to actually be attempting the FG and not running a fake when the whistle blew the play dead.
The punt ended up being downed at the 1 by ND so it was good decision by Kelly in the end and i definitely would've preferred they attempt the 55 yarder, but i do wonder what was going on in the sequence leading up to it.

Dabo noticed a low level funnel gunnel that would have helped the field goal kicker. Called the TO and let it pass harmlessly.
