This bill went from $750BB, to $2.0Trillion, now it’s headed to $3.0Trillion. Yesterday was stunning: senate democrats worked long hours to draft that measure in partnership with republicans. Pelosi steps in, and every single democrat senator voted down (47 to 47) the bill that they had already agreed to in principal. Let that sink in....
They voted 100% against the bill they designed themselves....

1) Republicans would also vote against it u til they could incorporate their pet projects and unrelated agendas to the bill (clearly this didn’t happen), or
2) The bill already had all the special additions that the Republicans wanted.
So since it can’t be one, can you references a source listing out all the unrelated things Republicans put into the bill?

Yeah. The problem is, McConnell has been doing his Grim Reaper thing since 2015, killing pretty much everything the Dems have tried to propose for the last five years. And the old give-and-take horse-trading game in the Senate has just been straight gone. Lindsey Graham, actually, has pretty much been the only guy on the Republican side of the aisle willing to do any kind of business with the Dems, and that's been for awhile now.
It was always going to bite McConnell, because there was going to come a day when he couldn't just ramrod things through and he was actually going to need Democrat votes to do, you know, actual politics. Today is that day.
The problem for him right now is, the Dems - for the first time in literally five years - finally have McConnell over a barrel, and so it's Fire Sale At Macy's time, and every lobbyist on the street who ever threw a chunk of change at their Democratic congressperson is now calling in their markers. And so by the time this thing gets through, it's going to be stuffed with so much pork it's going to resemble a Scottish haggish.
Is it kind of disgusting, like watching Congress looting and stealing TV's? Well, yeah. But it's kind of the political environment that our leaders have created with these hyper-partisan moves...and McConnell, frankly, is by a bunch the guy who's the guiltiest of that. (Lindsey Graham, in contrast, actually still plays the game...and then goes and plays a hardcore conservative shill on TV.)
I don't like it, but that's how our political system works right now. If we want our Congressmen to not act this way, we need to get ahold of the media pundits and re-institute the equal-time laws again, and rid ourselves of the dark money Super-PAC's that are actually running our politicians.
Then maybe they would vote for the people, as opposed to whatever lobby now wants in on the croney-capitalism Gold Rush bailout that's going on right now. Which is pretty much all of them.

I wish I could give you more than one TU
This country has become an oligarchy of the wealthiest. I don't see how we move back to democracy until we get the soft money and the dark money out of politics.
Maybe all of y'all guys will remember the part that your incumbent Congress men played in all of this and elect some challengers - but I doubt it.
