Unlike the Palestinians, who would do it in a heartbeat, Israel despite having the capability to commit genocide are doing their best to avoid needless civilian casualties. However when the darlings of the left stop murdering Israeli women and children and then run back to Gaza to use their own women and children as human shields, there will be collateral casualties. Funny how all those outraged leftists never seem to care about those indisputable facts.

Hamas openly advocates for the annihilation of Israel. They then launch an unprecedented attack on mostly civilian Jews.
Israel then says, bad move guys and does want to destroy Hamas.
Hamas hides under the skirts of many innocent Palestinians who are then killed by the IDF.
If Hamas fought bravely and out in the open this would be over with quickly.
It is stupid and very sloppy to label Israel’s response as genocide. Only one side favors genocide and they are now being killed which is a good thing.

True ethnic cleansing / genocide is the intent to eliminate a group of people who possess immutable characteristics, who share clearly identifiable social norms, or who uniformly ascribe to a specific set of beliefs.
To my understanding, Israel isn’t targeting Palestinians for elimination. Had that been an objective, then much of the population of the West Bank would be rounded up for ‘future action.’
Collateral damage, as awful as it is, isn’t close to being the same as genocide / ethnic cleansing.
