School or no school?

Weeks ago the Peruvian government announced that next Wednesday would be a national holiday, Flag Day. So schools would be closed that day.

Just this morning the Peruvian head of school announced that the official declaration has not had a final ratification by the president so no official holiday and school is back on.

I am wondering who I should be mad at?

Speaking of schools, they had a thing on Morning Joe yesterday that 62% of high school grads were not going to college bc there wasn't much difference in a lifetime salary for blue collar HS grad workers compared to an associate's degree college worker, and the HS grand worker didn't have years of student debt to pay off, and minus the student debt, the HS grad worker actually had more yearly income to use on themselves or a family bc they didn't have any student debt payments every month.

I know people like to give college a hard time but it really is a good way to have upward mobility in a society. And you just want smart people in your country, you know?

From what I have seen, the Chinese really are taking the lead in education which is scary. Their society actually greatly respects teachers and the kids work hard in school generally.

In no way shape or form am I saying that college is a bad thing, IMO it is a very good decision for anybody that is smart enough and can afford it. My reference was mostly to the reward compared to today's cost of an associate's degree!!!
