It might toughen up our players a bit and help our injury situation.

The spring game is in April. Season starts 5 months later

There is no correlation.
The way to address this would be in practice. DK did mention UGA's practices were more physical with more hitting than ours.
IMO, the main problem is on offense. Our O-line cannot block and our receivers can't hold a block on DBs, ever. This is where the physicality problem lies IMO.
We need nasty boys in the trenches on offense that defenders get tired of playing against.
