Should the ACC ditch the permanent crossover rivals?

Georgia Tech athletic director Mike Bobinski and coach Paul Johnson are in favor of eliminating their permanent crossover with rival Clemson.
I'd be fine with this. I'd rather see two different teams from the Coastal every year than Ga Tech + one other Coastal team. It's insane that we only play in Blacksburg, VA every 12 years.
Furthermore, I'd be happy if the ACC eliminated divisions altogether and we rotated though all conference opponents. Playing Syracuse every single year does nothing for me. Top two teams (based on conference record) wood play in the title game.

It's not that I don't want to play GaTech, I just think it's better for the entire conference if we rotated 2 of the coastal division every year.
Honestly we should get rid of divisions altogether and rotate all ACC teams. Top 2 conference records play for the championship.

hate not playing them.
I think in general, CFB is getting too conference-centric. Rivalries are being forsaken and individualized teams are being replaced by conference affiliation.
I want a chance to beat the Bees every year.

maybe having those e'ry other year trips is not as important as it once was, but i'd hate to lose that presence or guaranteed games if it still carries weight.
i also miss playing the entire acc[white meat] every year, but times change.

rival games.(CU/GT; Miami/FSU etc.) That's what makes the SEC and the ACC just doesn't have enough of it. Thank goodness we have FSU,GT and now Louisville on the schedule annually.

all but eliminated.
If we rotated through all conference opponents, we'd play every team AT LEAST every other year; during some four year periods we'd play a given team three times.
Sound like a good alternative to me.

I like playing rivalry games every year but i also like playing more of the conference more often.
I'm not totally against ditching divisions but maintaining the rivalry games will be important i think.
the 3 5 5 model isn't a bad idea i don't think.
its similar to the basketball scheduling model.
Clemson would play FSU, GT and NCSU every year then play the other 10 teams on a home and away basis every other year. so a player plays every conference team at least twice during their tenure and visits every away destination at least once.
not a big fan of a Divisionless championship game though.

I agree the permanent cross over has done nothing for football in the ACC. I'm all for getting rid of the two divisions all together and rotating a more evenly matched schedule. I belive this will allow the two best teams to play for the conference championship at the end of the season. instead of the coastal division sending the third best team to the championship game.

There's no real good solution, but they have a point. Va Tech might win the coastal this year because they get a two game head start on Ga Tech and Miami.
