I'm fine with not calling the time out in that situation, but I'm wondering what they possibly discussed during the time out before the free shot? Quickly driving to the basket if down 2 or less really should have been the only discussion there!

Disagree. Calling timeout would be playing into UVA’s hands. However, Brownell should have told them prior to the free throw to drive the lane on the last possession.
