Should Clemson sit it's stars this Sat.

Nov 20, 2013, 12:08 AM

I saw on the news where Spurrier is giving Davis and Shaw a rest and starting Shon Carson and Dylon Thompson against CC and maybe only use Clowney sparingly.

Shaw is starting. He said he wanted Thompson to play a few series, though if we get a big lead Thompson will probably take over.

Davis may play some, but he is really banged up with rib and ankle injuries. He really needs to sit. I didn't hear him say anything about Clowney not playing much

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

heck, clowney has sat this whole year. he never strapped up.

Nov 20, 2013, 4:42 AM

he has done exactly what the preseason rumors said he would, not play for risk of injury.

Stoudt and Kelly to get a halve to themselves, there is no way you can sit the starters when it's the last home game for a lot of them.

They need to keep their rhythm too.***

They work all summer and practice all year to play..... Players get hurt all the time out side of football and at practice....... Go out and play and if you get hurt you get hurt it is out of everyone control......

They certainly won't sit any Sr. Everyone will play, it'll be a lot like the SC ST game. Around a qtr in a half for most the star players. They need to make sure they stay in a good rhythm and not come out like they did against NC. St. after not playing starters for 2 in a half weeks.

I say play your starters the first half, especially the seniors and let them take a curtain call either just before the first half ends,or after the first series in the third.
Let them enjoy their accolades!

sounds like a good idea but sometimes that week off gets you rusty like w bye weeks. so I'd just trust the coach here on whatever they do

I was not thinking about it being the seniors last game. That makes the decision a no brainer. However I would not play them in the second half if the game is in hand.
