Should Barlow start a regional game.

And Darden move to the bull pen? With Darden struggling we can’t afford for him to get us in a hole like he did today.

Maybe go Barlow game one. Knaack Game two and Smith/Marchel game three. Darden might can give us a couple innings in relief.

Absolutely. Darden and Smith have no business seeing the mound until they absolutely have to. Enough is enough with both of them. Zero trust. Barlow game 1 then Knaak obviously. If we are 2-0 huge if, then start Darden and just hope they hit grounders. Smith can’t be trusted to throw strikes

I think what Bakich should and obviously will do is evaluate the teams that are in our regional and look at how they hit against lefties compared to righties

Darden and Smith will pitch in the regional. And earlier than you might want. But they really need to strategize Smith against the team that struggles more against lefties.


With our pitching, yeah we’re going to need some lucky bounces and to be hitting better than we have all season. It’s just that simple to get where we all should expect.

Barlow should definitely start game 1 of the regional. We can’t expect our guys to get 7/8 runs a game against good pitching in the tournament.

Obviously it depends on who we get in the matchups but you have to win game one somehow and have knaak for game two… at that point not many people have 3-4 great starters and not much diff than us so I would expect some higher scoring games late in the regional. We just got screwed last year facing a great staff in tenn. Then in a three game series you just need one quality start from someone outside knaak. We can win a series against anyone we have proven it , just have to somehow score enough to win the regional.
