Cade is 6'2". Average height for today's QB's. QB's do not throw over linemen, but through lanes. A defensive lineman in your face who is 6'5" and has a 40" or more reach and jumps to heights reaching almost ten feet does not allow short passes throw "over" him. Longer throws, yes. On screens, slants, crossing routes, etc., the QB uses throwing lanes.

But we had a 6’6” QB once so anything short of that just isn’t acceptable. Kinda like winning a national championship.

Yeah it was. Kudos to the oline. Cade had plenty of time and they opened the lane. Maybe as easy a play he could have.
Thanks for posting PBT, and great response by joetig. Oops, guess we're the 1.6% ers.

It’s no secret Cade is not yet a finished product. Has nothing to do with fans wanting to fire coaches or sell their souls in the portal. If you don’t understand the difference, you are obviously in the bottom half of a percent

SMH. You guys are looking at a static field. WF1 sees the receiver and is closing, would be near the ball if catch is made. Safety is on it also. Maybe a completion, likely not a score. Better chance if slant route goes further but also more time for pass rush to collapse the pocket.

that pass is all about timing and it needs to be fired right at this moment to receiver allowing him to make any needed moves to get into the end zone for a TD.
The safety is sitting right in middle but at least 12/15 yards off receiver and might be able to prevent TD but receiver might be able to make him miss. If not an easy TD, definitely an easy completion and near goal line at worst.

I hope Cade gets more comfortable and is looking all the receivers over before throwing the pass or taking the sack. Several plays have seen open receivers get overlooked. Granted, Cade hasn’t had a lot of time in many cases, but he needs to stop staring down a favorite receiver rather than to finding an open man. Maturity should help, but it’s time for him to see the field better.

Perhaps if the video as running at full speed we could tell what actually occurred. I did not see that part of the game( things to do) But in the still pic it looks like He is looking left . Then perhaps works back to the middle and maybe He saw the safety crashing down just in time to avoid an interception … I have no idea perhaps he just missed it.. but I am pretty sure Clemson won the game.

I just wonder if it was Dabo’s hubris, nepotism, or lack of fire due to his high salary that caused Cade to miss this read?

Having sat in the upper deck for this game specifically, this was the story all game. We had WRs running open all game but Cade was either not seeing them or was scared to throw it.
Hoping we got that worked out this past week.

Huh? Hahaha, just stating the obvious. I love CK2, and like him more than DJU. Just stating that CK2 missed a lot of wide open receivers. Thanks for trying to make a legitimate observation incompatible with player likability.

That QB’s in their 7th start still miss receivers? Wow; please let me update you then….
Cade’s gonna miss a few receivers every game. It’s a given. Maybe less than DJU, but still some.
If you need to drink to get over this fact, then do, instead of posting BS every time.

So, if you are a critical thinker that would lead to the logical question: Why is it for three years we have had inexperienced QB's learning on the job for the last 3 years? Why have we had QB's with happy feet that can't read through their progressions? Or are obviously being told to throw to the first read? Why do we not have a 4th or 5th year senior starting at QB? Why do we not have at least an experienced Junior starting at QB?
I have the answer. Do you?

You have an answer that fits your preformed narrative that has nothing to do with the actualities of running a football program.

I got an answer, but you wont like it and neither will OP. DJ shouldve been riding the pine permanently after the ND game and Cade should have been gaining his expierence and taking his licks last year. Thats reality. DJ is the exact same QB in OrSt that he was here if you cant see that watching him play there then you dont know ball.

Our problem wasn't inexperience with DJU - wrong QB, wrong offense,

wrong GD WR's, end of story. All of that other BS you're throwing out there is exactly that - Bull Hockey. DJU is showing exactly what he can do in the right Offense and with the right complements as we speak out in Oregon. Let it the Freak go.
The problems in the preceding two years have little to do with this year. Indeed, the only overlapping issue is at WR.
The problem this year, especially in the losses, was inexperience at QB to go with hangover from wrong GD WR's.
We are working through our current problems as we speak, but he's still going to throw "wth?" passes every now and then. All young QB's do.
People just need to calm down and s.t.f.u.......

Hooray for you film experts. I’m so sorry CU brought Chad Morris back to analyze film when we had you, and you all worked dirt cheap. What else do you “ film analyzers” bring to the table? Best be giving Dabo a call fast! Geeze!!!

I recall that play. Stellato ended up at the goal line with the defender deeper. He was still open running laterally. If Cade leads with a crisp pass it was a TD. I was like dang he missed the layup.
