ACC just endorsed the new revenue model for 2024-2025. Everybody seems United and in agreement. Should we just forget about anything happening. Maybe some of y’all have more info on it.

Because 10 mil is laughably inadequate to bridge the cavernous gulf that exists between ACC and SEC/BIG payouts. And that would assume we win the Natty EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. Which is obviously absurd. Meanwhile, deadbeat programs like Vandy, UofSC, Indiana, Illinois, etc will site around doing jack crap and still make more than we will on our best year! Just not sustainable.

Yes I agree totally. This model or revenue obviously rewards CFP and NCAAT appearances. But do you think money is the answer for everybody?
There are definitely programs who funnel their revenue to NIL for players. It’s happening no doubt, but Clemson will never do that. So the only thing Clemson would use money for would be for facilities and such. I don’t think there’s anything we don’t already have. Maybe will need updates in the next 10 years, but that’s the problem. What do we need money for?

To pay for more (and likely more high end) analysts and coaches. Help retain our assistants like Mike Reed, and Nick Eason, upgrade WR coach, etc… finances drive those things. That’s why SEC schools fire coaches so quickly, if we had the resources we would’ve fired Brownell years ago. Look at all the SEC schools with 2-3 former head coaches still cashing a paycheck.

Clemson is concerned. We're still way behind the other conferences and I'd be shocked if we still weren't trying to get out of this fiasco.

It's supposed to coincide with the 2024-2025 year.

There were headlines about the alliance and how at one point the P12 and ACC were going to have their winner face off in Vegas to help bolster them toward the playoffs?
Yeah, I kind of think the revenue thing is a bit like those headlines.
Generally speaking, it'll have more of an impact on finances for us but, as someone already referenced, this is a band-aid on a wound that is bleeding profusely. Te ACC is in that state like the Big 12 was in the mid-2010s -- dead man walking and hoping for a hail mary / Cal-Standford miracle to happen.
I think D-Hood put it plainly for us in that:
1. Not a matter of if, but a matter of time. Could happen today, could happen 3+ years from now.
2. Clemson ain't getting left in the dust -- we'll be picked up one way or another, especially if we win another Natty in the next few years to remind the other big dogs that, despite a couple of lackluster seasons, Clemson ain't going anywhere any time soon.
FWIW I feel like DH is gonna let us know if there is serious buzz to pay attention to when the time comes

Agreed.
I think we are going to have a very good season this year, and by the looks of the young defensive players we just got on campus (DL, LBs, AND DBs) we should be solid for years to come. I think the current group of DL we just got are going to be special

What is your question? Your subject asks for a timeline, but then you provided the timeline in the post. Not sure what you are asking...

I didn’t provide any timeline.
How long before it is decided about where we’re going? I thought it was clear.

Your post says nothing about us going anywhere. It is completely unclear what you’re trying to get at.

Has no long term effect on Clemson, FSU et. al. continuing to find a way out of the ACC ASAP. The deal may give Clemson an extra 5 million or so, and I emphasize MAY. That will not be enough to placate those schools who see they are facing a 30+ million dollar shortfall compared to SEC and B1G.

With that said I believe we’re still working behind the scenes and it’s only a matter of time. Clemson will be in another conference by 2028

I suspect a lot is gonna depend on the Big 12 and their new TV deal which is supposed to be finalized by the beginning of 2025. I’m hoping their deal will be attractive enough that some of the ACC teams that can’t get into the SEC or Big Ten would be able to go there. As everyone knows every school has to have a landing spot. There seems to be seven or eight schools ready to jump now and if a few of the others can get into the Big 12 maybe there will be enough support to blow up the ACC.
Any ACC school that has national aspirations in any sport has to see the writing on the wall. Unless the ACC can get more money out of ESPN (which they can’t) ACC teams will face such a revenue problem that they can’t be competitive in any sports.
