The Coots like to make excuses by referencing their SEC schedule and their perception of Clemson's soft schedule. But Clemson has played numerous games against SEC competition over last 5 seasons, so let's compare.

Here are the facts comparing SEC wins over last 5 years (2015-2019)

Clemson verse SEC: Played 14 times for 78.6% wins
Coots verse SEC: Played 40 times for 40% wins

Clemson lost to Alabama twice and LSU once, all in playoff matches. Except for these three playoff losses, Clemson did not lose a non-conference game and were 43-2 within the ACC.

Coots only had one winning year in conference play (2017: 5-3)

Coots verses ACC: Played 9 times for 22.2% wins
Clemson verse ACC: Played 45 times for 95.5% wins

If you remove the Coot losses to Clemson, the Coots are 2-2 against ACC, losing to UNC and Virgina and beating UNC and NCSU. They also lost to USF, Citadel, and App State.

True, and let's not forget that we don;t get to play the SEC cupcakes either. No Vandy, Ole Miss, Arky, etc... We would be well over 85% if we played all of them.
