SC's last TD run

Sorry, but I do not understand our defensive alignment on that last 3 and 16 Sellers QB run. I was screaming at my TV that he was going to fake a pass and then run. That's what happened. Our linebackers were totally out of position by giving him time and space to run. He is almost impossible to stop in an open field. I would have had him beating me throwing the ball vs running it. Bad defensive call as I see it.

I have watched a lot of coaches run a prevent defense. They all suck at it

It's difficult to know...

what they were thinking.
Our weakness on the defense this year has been the secondary, so it could be that the alignment was designed to protect them. Now that being said, Sellers had proven that his running was the key threat and so you would like to have seen adjustments (run blitzes, slow down the rush to contain him etc...) and maybe they did try that and it didn't work. Sometimes a guy is just better.
The defense turned them over a few times when we had the lead and the offense sat on the ball and didn't burn clock. I'm more annoyed at that, honestly, than the defense overall. If I told you before the game that we hold SC to 17 points you would likely have though we would win the game.

Woodaz was the spy on that play, but for some inexplicable reason engaged

with an offensive lineman instead of hanging back about 2 yards off the line of scrimmage. He never got within 2 yds of touching Sellers on the run.

And not to play Sammy in fourth wuarter was stupid by Wes amd Dabo sat back and let it happen , and they clearly said Sammy was the one player that made the most hackles on sellers and sanders through the first theee quarters , he helped contain him but Wes thought SC would change their scheme. Bs , sellers was their plan to run all day. They knew we sucked at stopping a mobile qb. Everybody knew sellers would score on that last drive , we could not stop him on third down after halfway containing him on first two downs

LB’s minus Sammy have not been that good. Expected Carter to be lights out this year but he struggles to get off blocks.
Please bring in a Levon Kirkland type guy. Head hunters would be appreciated.
Sincerely rhpltmeg.
