When is the last time a team rushed like that against any Clemson Tiger team?? Matter of fact, when has ANY D1 football team rushed like this and not won the game?? GREAT WIN!! GO TIGERS!! Looks like the Holiday Bowl vs USC, or Oregon St....... or possibly the Gator Bowl vs Kentucky, Missouri or Auburn.

Notre Dame last year ran like that en route to bludgeoning us. Not sure since.
Regardless - UNC had the yards in the 1st half. Nice to see the D come out and shut them down in the 3rd

Those yards and average were on 2 long runs. Poor gap integrity. Lets hope Wes gets that resolved this week. Would love to see a 63-0 kinda game. Screw giving them 17 points.

I think the reason those yards didn't mean more is that they weren't consistent. He hit a couple of HRs against us that went for 64 and 54 yards (and one of those resulted in the fumble for the touchback), but he wasn't consistently moving the chains for them. 2/3 of his rushing yards were on those 2 carries.
UNC really needed a more steady presence in the running game to keep the chains moving, but they couldn't do it with the exception of Drake Maye picking up a few with his legs. We ended up with over 38min TOP for this exact reason.

This is exactly why Dabo kept saying we were a few plays away from being undefeated. You can't turn the ball over at the goal line and win! Thankfully it happened to them and not us!

Their run game was very bimodal. This was evidenced by Clemson dominating the time of possession.
They could not sustain drives and were 3rd and long a ton
Besides a few big plays they got stuffed at the LOS all night.
Also, the QB had a few big scrambles. Counts as running yards, but with a QB that’s got like Drake Maye, you can’t really bring too many guys out of coverage to stop the run and spy the QB.

2 long runs (2 carries 110 yds) by a strong running back and probably all of Maye's runs (10-67 yds) were all from avoiding pressure, not designed runs. That leaves 20 carries 71 yards against a very good passing team. Containment of Maye and not so many broken tackles would of made that stat better.
