Not even remotely true. They worked well for us in 2015-2016 and 2018-2020.

The problem is for perimeter screens to work well you need 2 things:

1. A QB who can get the ball out quick
2. WRs who can hold their man on the LOS and not get driven back.

We didn't have 1 in 2017 and they didn't work. We haven't had either since 2020 which is why they haven't worked the last couple years. We have 1 again. Not convinced we have 2 though.
