and was at the helm for the best Bears defenses since the '80s. If Bowers can't shine under him then I don't know where he can.

Really like him but according to today's article on the NFL Nation (ESPN) he doesn't look like he will even make the team this year.

Bowers was definitely an underachiever at Clemson.

he was solid as a freshman (good not great), had a sophomore slump, dominated as a junior despite a knee injury, and then went pro.

That doesn't sound like underachieving to you? If he had

Schiano didn't belong in the NFL....

Way too authoritarian to coach professional players. Authoritarian style of coaching always fails at the pro level

Are kidding me the only time Greg Schiano name should be mention with those coaches is as the losing coach which happened quite a bit. Gregg Schiano was not that good at Rutgers. Rutgers played a soft schedule for the most part and when he did excel it was against inferior opponents. Go back and look at where they were which was a losing program and he came in and instilled a little defense and some team rules. They never had any discipline they marginally improved but it looked like he turned the program around. That guy never deserved a shot at the NFL. His record at Tampa proves it.

None of those coaches are authoritarian....

There is difference between being a hard nosed coach and being authoritarian. You see none of those coaches you named getting up in their players faces and screaming.

It pains me to say it, but Bowers is just lazy. I'm sorry

that he had a knee issue that was mishandled when he was here, but he never wanted it bad enough. Nice kid, polite...just got by on natural ability though.

I think we have three DE's at Clemson who are better than he was.

I like Bowers, but don't agree with him calling out/blaming

schiano and making an excuse for his poor performance/motivation.
I hope I'm wrong but sounds like lip service from a guy that knows he's on the chopping block. Hopefully he plays lights out 110% all the time to the best of his ability but we'll see.
