How does NCST's 3-star WR get open all day for 14 catches

against our 5-star NFL defense, while our 5-Star All-World WRs couldn't separate or get open against their 3-star defense to save their lives? And when they do get open, it's as if they are running different routes than our QB is expecting. Yes, DJ is struggling, and maybe he needs to sit, at least to regroup and get his confidence back, or get motivated or whatever; but our offensive problems are much, much deeper and more serious than DJ. It's pretty obvious to me that his woes are just a symptom of a real, bigger problem.

I didn't realize we had a permanent caste system in college football. Maybe they should wear the stars on the uniforms so those 3-star guys will know that they're not supposed to outplay the 5-stars.
They should know their place!

Because NC St has a decent offensive staff that can scheme guys open. We do not. We run the most elementary route tree in college football. These coaches are not capable of scheming guys open. They can’t even draw up a play to get 5 yards after a timeout.

All scheme. We run too many vertical routes. No combination routes. And those routes take a lot of time to develop. When the OL is struggling against 3 and 4 man fronts you are going against 7 and 8 man coverages.
