Speaking of hating things as a kid

Anyone have a food they hated as a kid but like now?
I went thru a phase where i wouldn't eat anything with cheese on it. Started with eating cold cheese and hated it. Made me think i hated anything with cheese, even pizza's.
Then I realized i just like melted cheese and liked pizza's again.
now I'll eat a whole wheel of cheese. #fatty

the only time I have ever been sick in my life

I'm talking puking, bed-ridden flu sick........was when I was about 7 or 8 years old. My most vivid memory was that I was eating BBQ potato chips when I first got sick and hurled. So I associated those chips with being sick for some reason, even though they had nothing to do with it.
The sight of a bag of BBQ chips made me nauseous for about 25 years, much less the thought of eating any. But I somehow finally got over that, and now I enjoy a bag of BBQ chips from time to time.
Conversely I liked fish when I was a kid, but hate it now. I haven't eaten fish since I was about 15 years old. I just suddenly started not liking fish, and it has never gone away. I'll eat shrimp or crabs, but not fish.

Never ate a burger or ground beef or tried one until last year. I finally came around to liking them. Now I love them.

Ground beef was cheap-ish. We ate alot of ground beef. Parents called it hamburger steak if we forgot to get buns at the store.

yeah, my family would eat it, but it was always a texture thing for me. Finally got over it while at a work function and glad I pushed through. Burgers are the bomb

mushrooms is one that comes to mind.
apparently i only ate hot dogs and PB and J for a long period of my toddler-ish days.
one of kids is pretty picky and particular about food touching and sauces etc. i wish my mom were still alive to apologize for being a little shitheed

We drove about 125 miles for Easter Sunday at grannies once when I was, say 6. We all had 6" or so chocolate bunnies which were still in the box. There was a giant bag of chips for snacks too. My bunnie melted and I used the chips to dip the semisolid substance from the box.
I was grown before I could eat chocolate and I still ain't no fan of plain chips. I'll wear some carmel and nachos out though.

Asparagus Avocado/guacamole Canned tuna (once in blue moon if I have hot sauce and crackers)
I still won't touch leftover chicken or pork if all I have is a microwave to reheat (i.e. at work). Both meats take on a completely different flavor when microwaving.

I also generally stay away from leftovers of all varieties.
Cold pizza being the main exception to the rule
