The big reason for that is teams are loading the box and bringing LB's up the A and B gaps almost every down.
They clearly do not want Etienne to get going, because once he gets going, they know he's gone.
That has left a void behind those defenders for our slot receivers and TE's to exploit...which frankly hasn't happened yet, though there are signs it is being addressed.

A&M and Syracuse both packed in at the LOS , for sure they're hoping to wreck our run game and make us one dimensional . Seems like a good strategy except our QB and WRs are also elite . Pick that poison boys ...Clemson's coming !

the all-world talent we have and I’m not sure whether it’s all due to substitution.

T Law to run the ball more would open up the game for ETN and others but that is a risk that the coaches probably prefer to not take. imo

You can't argue with a 35 point win but a few times last night (not everytime), TL stared down the receivers rather than looking off the DBs. Still, most of the time, the DBs cant cover the receivers.

Yeah that is true but given we are struggling in the passing game it makes sense. If TL was throwing darts to our receivers that would stop.

Game 1 laid a marker about our offense. Stopping ETN is the #1 priority of opposing defenses.
TL needs to stop throwing INTs and missing open receivers for this to change.

Yeah. At this point if I’m a DC playing Clemson, I sell out to stop ETN as priority 1 and I think that’s pretty obvious the strategy we are going to see until we can more consistently make them pay for loading the box. ETN’s fumbled once of course, but it’s pretty much guaranteed that if he gets going, he is going to light your defense on fire. You can at least hope for a drop or bad throw. That’s killed several drives to date for Clemson.

Yeah a garbage time TD means soooo much. Line will get better as we get deeper in the season as they still are learning how to plat together.

It's all about ETN and nobody else. When he comes off the field, the focus of the defense changes.
There will be plenty of long runs in garbage time this year.
