That’s good.

This is just a run of the mill day in the Trump economy. Thanks to the morons that voted for this clown.

I am more disappointed in Biden not getting out earlier, the Dem establishment, and them giving us Kamala and not a primary. We might not have even had the Trump chaos had the they given people options.

On the other hand, as you stated, when never needed Trump in the first place. The Repubs did have a primary and they chose Trump. Oahhetic.

I wouldn't put anything past him. Nobody will know what he will do over the next almost 4 years. There will be no stability with him.

He needs somebody else to be able to cast blame onto as Americans continue to hemorrhage money. If he fires Powell and puts his own person in there who does what he wants, and we continue to struggle, he has no one to blame. Having someone else to blame is always key for Trump.

I don’t think Trump thinks more than about 20 minutes ahead of time, I doubt he’s gamed this out. Mercifully for us I don’t think J Pow resigns.

“Though bond yields fell immediately after Trump's post — meaning investors increased their purchases of U.S. treasury notes, something Trump is seeking — any effort to remove Powell would likely be met with a sell-off of bonds, said Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody's Analytics.

"Bond investors really don’t like Fed’s independence impaired, and if President actually did fire Powell, the bond market would throw up all over it and long term interest rates would go skyward," he said. "It's a really bad idea. A cornerstone of a well-functioning economy like our own is a well-functioning central bank. If we lose that, we lose our economy’s secret sauce."

we were poised for more rate cuts.

Trump poops all over the global economic world order and blames the Fed for not cutting rates.

And his followers will repeat this ad nauseum and anyone that doesn't agree with them are "commies".

CPI and PPI were up in January, and tariffs (inflationary policy) started in February. When did you want FOMC to cut rates? Their job is to project forward and provide stable guidance that investors and businesses need, not to whipsaw month to month or bend to the demands of political pressure.

An independent Fed is the cornerstone of the stability of US treasuries and the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Look what a little injection of politics and instability has already done in just a few short weeks.

The further the economy erodes, the more difficult and longer to reverse even if the administration starts doing some things well. Just like any “comeback” in a sporting event, the deficit may be too great to overcome.
