The party a has passed Carville by. That is today's Democrat party.

The Dems need to get back to something JFK would recognize. Hell, they need to get back to something Bill Clinton would recognize.

The Demicrat Party if today’s great idea is to relabel ‘diversity’ because the word ‘diversity’ has become an unpopular political word.

The Democrat Party since after B.Clinton left has been devoid of goos ideas but prolific with labels and distortions of the language.

The pubs need to get back to something Reagan would recognize! Even something Bush Jr would recognize. Kinzinger and Cheney would recognize. The MAGAT Christian nationalist cult is some weird $hit

True, but they don't need to as long as the Dems keep hooking the Repubs up.

I agree, but I think this is all "fighting fire with fire"

The MAGAT Christian Nationalist isht is what GWB, Jeb Bush, and Mike Pence represent within the Republican Party.

MAGA rejected all three of them. Resoundingly.

I’d ask you to guess why except you are obviously so profoundly uninformed as to make such a question pointless.

I wonder because some of the things they support are just bizarre if not insane. You have to ask why are the Dems self destructing and seemingly learning nothing.

Yep, this election showed it was about the economy and dems lost on messaging

Carville says, "We lost for one very simple reason: It was, it is, and it always will be the economy, stupid." -Agreed.

It doesn't matter what replaced the focus of the messaging; what cost them the election is that they didn't focus or sell their message about the economy against the massive headwind that was undercutting all incumbents worldwide. Maybe that was always going to be an impossible task, but doesn't much matter now.

The fact that "did Joe Biden dropout" searches spiked on election night shows 1.) How disconnected from politics many voters are 2.) The election was about "vibes" more than anything else and 3.) Neither side's messaging really was effective.

Now Trump will face the same dilemma, how the economy is in 4 years (or less for the midterms) will dictate how voters vote again. So far, he's focusing on all the cultural war stuff and his revenge tour with the only economic movement being starting a trade war with Canada/Mexico/China so it's not like he/they learned a lesson, either. But I guess since he can't run again, he doesn't care how he leaves the Republican Party's chances in 2028, which will be interesting to watch occur.

He generally doesn't hype the economy anymore though. He explicitly has said over and over we would have won without all of woke nonsense. I don't think you follow him that closely. He rarely talks about the economy. He has spent hours upon hours talking about other issues. I know you don't see that, but people like yourself are why we lose.

In the end it's not about the economy though. If the economy is exactly the same or even slightly worse, the Dems are in trouble again unless they drastically change.

I don't think you or your position is "clueless" because our positions aren't that far apart (which is why I wanted you to read my post again). But, I have learned you are way too emotionally involved in this topic and it's probably best I just don't engage with you on it anymore.

Still think you are a cool cat though, and hope you enjoy the Superbowl, too.

Notice how the Democrat shills still believe that their electoral defeat was due to superficial things (such as ‘messaging’) instead of substantive things.

They still think that Biden’s economy, especially in 2024, was good. When the Biden bureaucrats (let’s pick on the BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics)) gets the job numbers badly wrong for an entire year, the ever-so-gullible Democrat constituency remains oblivious that something is really really wrong. The Democrat constituency chooses cluelessness; 12 consecutive times during a calendar year (to be badly wrong re too high of monthly job numbers is a statistical impossibility IF IF IF the methodology used to generate those statistics was legitimate.

Style over Substance has finally caught up to the Uniparty in general and the Democrat wing of the 7niparty in particular. It is this that led to the rise of MAGA as a political force.

The last 2 Dem presidents took over when the country was smoldering ashes.

And they had to basically rebuild it up from ground zero. It's been either financial crashes & optional wars, or it's been a pandemic that the grifter-in-chief couldn't bull-s**t his way out of, and an accompanying surge of deaths, crime, and joblessness.

Both times the Dems inherited the disaster, stopped the bleeding, turned it around, and handed Trump a good economy and other major statistics trending very well, and a country basically rebuilt from the ash heap they inherited.

I could prove it with all kinds of links and stats. But a cult member like you will pretend it's all made up. And I don't want to waste my time.

As for the basic nuts & bolts of governing, Dems are better than Republicans, and they've proven that repeatedly over the last 30+ years.

The two things that Dems are awful at: 1) messaging; 2) culture wars. A big part of the first problem in 2024 was Joe Biden's horrible decision to run for re-election after a noticeable decline, which is part of messaging. The old Biden, even from 2020, would've whipped Trump easily. But today's Biden is a fossil, and that sunk him & Kamala after that. That was a messaging problem on steroids, and they still barely lost. On 2) Cultural issues are very easy to run on when you're a demagogue like Trump. The Dems will have to deal with that in future elections.
