Saw in my 1995 notes where Panther’s played 1st game (preseason) at Clemson

vs John Elway & Denver Broncos..on a Saturday.
Pretty exciting times what with a NFL team in our area and ability to now go see all those big name teams we’d only seen on TV for umpteen years.
Was surprised that NFL football fans didn’t care so much for Clemson downtown (didn’t shop much or dine overall) and tailgated differently too it seemed. Just drank, went to game & got the hail home!
Oh, all during that season in Tigertown they complained about driving there (understood), the traffic jams (understood) & wishing the Gamecock bidding officials had not jacked up their fee for hosting the Panther’s.
I attended game that Saturday since had purchased 2 seats at their Charlotte stadium for life, thus could buy 2 season tix too.
Don’t remember who won, was with a hot date on a hot 95* day in Tigertown!

sat on the Hill and could almost touch Jerry Rice in warm-ups. Steve Young was zipping the ball so fast we could hear it "sizzle". Never knew you could actually hear a ball move through the air until then.

I was a senior and got season tix. That was when I learned how violent the game is. The speed/size difference was unbelievable (and scary). I know alot of folks don't care for the pro game, but man, to see up close and personal, it's a grown man's game!

HC daughter in tailgate after game. She was cool as I recall. Was a statistician for Rams and knew her stuff.

What a year with football every single Sunday. I got Panthers season tickets that year for $75. Hung out with Jim Harbaugh at TTT night before Indy Panthers game when he was starting next day. Good times
