He must have seen that unlike the UNC Tarheels , Clemson isnt going to pay you a salary and you have to take actual classes that arent in Swahili ... poor kid . Well , after we destroy his new team this fall at thier house he will probably wish that he signed with a football school , not a hoops school.

Poor dumb lad!You will hate Chapel Hill. It's a school for wealthy white boys. They will not give you the time of day on that campus unless you are the best offensive lineman to ever play the game. Their football program stinks. They are a basketball school. You screwed up when you left your Tiger Town offer. I'm a North Carolina born and bred man who would rather have a sister in the world's oldest profession than a brother at Chapel Hill.Unless you are a "Trip" or a "Buffy" you don't do well at the Hill!

Clemson after he had committed and it was not a gameday and he could see what it was really like, he knew he needed to decommit. I think that's kind of trashing a school that did nothing but good for him. And stop using the excuse that he is a 17-year old kid. He is old enough to know that it wasn't called for.

Kid has made a mistake, and it seems that we had made one too. Glad he realized this before he wasted an opportunity with us and we wasted several years and a scholarship on somebody who isn't committed.

Yes he will probably be a star at UNC, but if going to a UNC-Duke basketball game was a highlight that helped him change his mind, I really hope he plays basketball so he has more of a chance to win than what he gave up in football by switching his commitment.
I'm also still trying to figure out why our staff would have "discretion" on him going to a UNC-Duke basketball game. LOL
Good luck to the kid... at intramural basketball if he doesn't make the semi-pro basketball team there.

UNC is the perfect school for me in terms of academics and athletics.
This is an unbelievable comment for a big-time football recruit to make in 2012. Sorry, but UNC's academics have been exposed this year to be a complete fraud, especially so for a football player. Heck, this comment has an ironic twist of basically saying "I don't want to do school work" in 2012.
Athletically? Unless he's a big college hoops fan, this is inconceivable. I can't even think of a Tar Heel friend that I know who would say that UNC's football experience is a tenth of what Clemson's is. They are going on probation. Their reputation is in shambles. They are...not good at football, and their fans do not care. We beat them mercilessly this season.
Hey, you never know why a kid picks a school, and if it works for him, great. But yikes...hard to imagine anyone looking at UNC for football and making a proud decision that that's the place for them.
