Reasons For Loss IMHO in Order of Importance
Jan 14, 2020, 12:22 AM

1) Puzzlingly bad offensive gameplan 2) TL and Wide Outs badly out of synch 3) AJT Continually burned 4) Defensive Line No Pressure 5) Poor Officiating
Still could have won this with 2-3 of those things going wrong. Ultimately officiating just added insult to injury. Go Clemson Tigers!

They scored. We didn't. Can't lay this all on defense. LSU lit it up. We did not. Will be back next year! Proud of our Tigers. Congratulations. We were outplayed tonight. No need to make excuses. Better team tonight definitely LSU.

We dont have a defensive line.
I posted this several times, and we should have taken advantage of it better but didn't

Outmanned and outcoached. The LSU fans that ran their mouths were accurate. Hand it to them!

I hate to lose, but we got outplayed
Stop a couple of those big plays and it could be different, but they get credit for turning the big plays.
Nothing ever seemed to click for us and it did for them. Not an embarrassing loss at all, just got beat. I’d rather it be LSU in the finals than UNC during regular season

No the game was lost by not running the football. Which does numerous things for us Offensively as well as Defensively. Seems like we tried to make TL look like the star of the show. It cost us a Natty. Not saying TL isn't amazing, why fight 1 handed when u have 2.

The game plan wasn't bad. What are they supposed to call when receivers can't get open and Trevor is missing throws left and right?

Don't give me that. Travis at half had 9 carries for 66 yards. Then to start the half defense forces a punt, Travis then carries the ball 4 times that drive and we score a touchdown. Defense then forces another punt, Travis doesn't get the chance to run the football and we go 4 and out. Then defense forces LSU to a FG attempt, which they miss. Then Travis gets a carry off a option play to the short side of the field. Which is questionable call, then we proceed to throw 2 passes and punt. Game was really lost in those 2 possession. Not to add the first quarter/ half were we should've been up 3 or 4 touchdowns, but we didn't capitalize on the opportunities.

The main reason is they were just better this game and this year-nothing to be ashamed of as we still had a great year-#2 is not bad at all considering the DL losses. Still very proud of our guys!

better than us tonight. No shame in losing to a better team on a special night. It has been a heck of a run these last two years - eventually a well oiled machine just runs out of gas - we did tonight.
No excuses - just tip your hat to LSU and take comfort in knowing we are a program built to make another National Championship run next year. There ain't a whole lot of teams that can say that - LSU being among them.

Discussing what went wrong on OUR message board is not the same as not giving them credit or whining like OSU fans. Be classy and make no excuses on “public” forums. This is a place to discuss/vent.

No idea how the basically same offense can look so much worse than they did last season in the CFP. Sure Trevor was off tonight but the WRs werent open much either and our all senior OLine got.abused two games in a row.

The secondary we faced tonight is MUCH better than the one last year. By a mile!
Trevor was also off his game for some reason.

We do not have a true slot. Amari is not the answer there. Which is surprising as I thought he would be great. He was more productive last year.
Mind you I do not know the impact of the ACL injury.

Wrong.

Reason #1, whcih trumps all the others, and was not on your list.
1) LSU was by far the better team tonight. They played harder, faster, and had a better plan on offense and defense. It doesn't get much simpler than that.
We will be back, give credit where credit is due, don't be an Ohio State wannabe.

It's ironic how both games were similar in the first half. We moved the ball a ton in the first half just couldn't score. Had a chance to kill all of LSU hope, but failed to make plays when they were presented. LSU then showed hart and climbed back and made they plays to win the game when they needed to.

1. You cant pressure the QB without blitzing. Worked vs our qb, not vs theirs. 2. Your defensive backs could not cover their wrs 3. You abandoned the run game 4. Refs cost you about 10 points or so

Change #5 to "Poor Tackling" ..... refereeing had nothing to do with it. At some point players have to make plays and ours didn't.
